Here is our preseason top ten and why we have each team in the spot we do.

[table id=191 /]

Wayzata (1). The [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] bring back for starters from a title team and that includes Isaac Olmsted. The [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] can then put the much improved [player_tooltip player_id='1560801' first='Brady' last='Lam'] in the Wyatt McBeth spot or go to [player_tooltip player_id='2433532' first='Max' last='Beeninga'] or [player_tooltip player_id='2842020' first='Xaviahn' last='Ivey'] and have another guard on the floor. That's a crazy top seven and don't forget All Lake honored [player_tooltip player_id='3025995' first='Samuel' last='Mohs'], Sauk Rapids transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2575638' first='Izayah' last='Cook'] and 6'4 [player_tooltip player_id='1560752' first='Dylan' last='Brefeld'].

Hopkins (2). The Royals were going to be top five team with [player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'], [player_tooltip player_id='2560534' first='Tre' last='Moore'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2420169' first='Ahmed' last='Nur'] back with some up and coming others returning as well. But they then added outstanding transfers in [player_tooltip player_id='1874906' first='Kyree' last='Nelson'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560839' first='Xavier' last='Frelix'] and Anthony Bird. The Royals have the talent to push for state again.

Maple Grove (3). Returning [player_tooltip player_id='2126467' first='Baboucarr' last='Ann'], [player_tooltip player_id='1960892' first='Henry' last='Knutson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2121337' first='Kaden' last='Harney'] is the start, getting [player_tooltip player_id='2126442' first='Bennett' last='Cizadlo'] eligible after sitting out and playing JV is key, there are up and comers and yes, transfers. [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen'] in the most and [player_tooltip player_id='1560739' first='Max' last='Iversen'] at guard. This is now a stacked roster.

Cretin-Derham Hall (4). The defending champs have [player_tooltip player_id='1560868' first='Joseph' last='Mitchell III'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2126094' first='Ty' last='Schlagel'] back plus some other key returning players like [player_tooltip player_id='1560840' first='Jason' last='Johnson'], [player_tooltip player_id='2126154' first='Julian' last='Smith'], [player_tooltip player_id='2120499' first='Isaiah' last='Thom'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2419839' first='Dre' last='Frierson-Hollie']. They also got help from transfers in [player_tooltip player_id='2435240' first='Zeke' last='Gilbert'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2126170' first='Isaac' last='Feller'], plus some good young guys coming up that transferred in. The Raiders could be back in the title game again.

Alexandria (5). The Cards won a title last year and they have some very good up and coming talent ready to take on bigger roles. [player_tooltip player_id='2118495' first='Talan' last='Witt'], [player_tooltip player_id='2118449' first='Mason' last='Witt'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2115657' first='Gavin' last='Roderick'] are going to score, [player_tooltip player_id='2115658' first='Myles' last='Gray'], [player_tooltip player_id='2126865' first='Grady' last='Starzl'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2119601' first='Thomas' last='Hinrichs'] will step into bigger roles, and young players well help. No transfers but a very good team that will compete.

Tartan (6). You have the returning Titans of [player_tooltip player_id='2560499' first='Kevin' last='Wilson Jr.'], Emmanuel Oeysanmi, [player_tooltip player_id='2124212' first='Jaylen' last='Goergen'] and La'[player_tooltip player_id='2119654' first='Quan' last='Stewart'] return and they are helped by the transfer additions of [player_tooltip player_id='2465512' first='Duke' last='King'], [player_tooltip player_id='2119645' first='Tyrel' last='Pride'], [player_tooltip player_id='2835388' first='Kenny' last='Brown'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2521853' first='Justus' last='Dayee']. The Titans have guards, they have athletes, they have veterans, they have toughness, they have size, and they have a change to match CDH and East Ridge this year in depth.

Prior Lake (7). The Laker future looks really good right now because it's a big school with a lot of young talent and size. It's a school where you can see guys go from JV to varsity and make a big impact as seniors. This program reminds me a lot of Lakeville North from about 10-12 years ago in that way.

East Ridge (8). [player_tooltip player_id='1560882' first='Cedric' last='Tomes'] often had to do a ton for his team last year because of a few different reasons. Will that happen again? Not having [player_tooltip player_id='1950404' first='Bennett' last='Skinner'] and [player_tooltip player_id='3071101' first='Andrew' last='Theraldson'] is gonna sting but the Raptors have some up and coming shooters in the senior and sophomore classes plus [player_tooltip player_id='2120491' first='Graham' last='Sanneh'] returns and [player_tooltip player_id='2463188' first='Salman' last='Hussein'] transferring from Harding could help.

Apple Valley (9). The Eagles went to state last year and they return a lot of good players that should allow them to push for state again. [player_tooltip player_id='1560866' first='Camare'' last='Young'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2271330' first='Trey' last='Parker'] are two very good players that return to lead.

Rochester Mayo (10). The [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last=''] are the 1AAAA favorite. They have their best six guys back from an 18-win team and those six returning guys include three players with size and three good guards. This is the year they have been building towards.
