About Jason
Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
Jason is an impact defender for Team FSA. He’s someone who seems to love the challenge of trying to shut down an opposing team’s best player, and more often than not seems to give them problems. Jason is so quick moving his feet laterally, battles to get over the top of screens, and does a great job of walling up to contest in the rare case his man gets to the rim. As a guard, you’re never going to get a second of peace when being defended by Jason.

WHY?
He is one of the top on-ball defenders in the Region. Johnson speeds up opposing guards and he changes directions while going stride-for-stride. JJ anticipates well on both sides of the ball. He is a relentless competitor who can go pound for pound with anyone on the hardwood. This kid is tough!

Read EvaluationJack Pfeiffer | Prep Hoops Scout
Jason was showing off his lightning quick burst and speed on Sunday. The sophomore guard loves to push the pace of the game and was finding success speeding to the rim for finishes in transition. He also showed off his agility in the half court, blowing by defenders on the way to the basket where he could make a tough layup or kick the ball out to a teammate on the perimeter. Johnson also gives great effort on the defensive end, being able to match up with the opponent’s lead guard. Jason and this Cretin-Derham Hall team are young, but have a lot of potential.
