The Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp is annually one of the best events to check out young talent each fall. This year was no different. Here I examine prospects that made noise in Pangos Frosh/Soph Camp: Illinois 2029 Point Guards!

[player_tooltip player_id='2886496' first='Travis' last='Jamison'] (Whitney Young – 2029)

Jamison has made a legit case early in the process for the top spot in the class. He has elite size at 6'5” for a guard that can legit play on the ball. Nice passing feel with great passes along with kicking to shooters. Can be a bit wild at times, but you love the creativity. Slick ball handler that can drain pull up threes, turn around jumpers, and attack off the bounce with ease for finishes. Rebounds very well for his position.

[player_tooltip player_id='2767906' first='Ronald' last='Johnson'] (Mt. Carmel – 2029)

Johnson is one of the top prospects in the 2029 class. He has good size at 6'3” for an on ball guard. Slick ball handler that plays with strength attacking downhill. Gets in the lane for finishes including a sweet finger roll. Knocked in a corner three. Liked how he passed and rebounded. Also mixed it up defensively moving well laterally and getting his hands on steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='2385677' first='Noah' last='Young'] (Lincoln Park – 2029)

Young is a shifty ball handler and creative playmaker at 5'7”. Gets in the paint for acrobatic layups and nifty finishes. Capable shooter off the catch from three. Passes with a ton of flair. Pesky defender that got steals leading to points multiple times.

[player_tooltip player_id='2918205' first='Keiwon' last='Gulley'] (Bloom – 2029)

Gulley is a smaller guard at 5'9”, but he has game! Scoring guard that can get up throwing down an array of transition jams. Quickness off the bounce and changes pace well. Finishes through contact in the paint. Solid passer that hits guys on the move.

[player_tooltip player_id='2862587' first='Dajuan' last='Brown'] (Bradley-Bourbonnais – 2029)

The 6'1” guard is a plus shooter from three both off the catch and pulling up. Strong and compact frame with a clean shooting stroke. Mixed in a nice cross blowing past his man for a score and we thought he showed growth as a passer in the drive and kick along with several crisp passes off live dribbles.

[player_tooltip player_id='2964015' first='Kumasi' last='Jones'] (DePaul Prep – 2029)

One of my favorite guards that is emerging in the freshman class. The speed, athleticism, and court savvy are fun to watch. Athletic reverse layups, slick dump off passes, quick baseline takes, and defended on the ball well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2369872' first='Cody' last='Rader'] (Geneva – 2029)

The Geneva 5'10” point guard plays with a ton of flair. Excellent passing feel hitting guys on the move. Best pass might have been a backdoor pass leading to a layup. Drive and kick dimes as well. Capable three point shooter off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2918202' first='Kaden' last='McClellan'] (Bloom – 2029)

McClellan is a 2029 smaller lead guard at just 5'8” that pushes the tempo off his defense. Likes to work in the mid-range with pull up jumpers and soft touch finishes.

Uriah Santiago (OPRF – 2029)

Santiago is a smaller guard at just 5'7” that was active with his hands on the defensive end recording several steals. The tiny guard also was fouled on a jumper and proved to be a solid ball handler.

Jaden Neaville (Bloomington – 2029)

Neaville is a 5'11” point guard that caught our attention with his shifty handles and shake off the bounce getting in the paint. The lefty has good length which means he could keep growing. Creative layup maker. Little wild with the shot.

Rayvon Nelson (De La Salle – 2029)

The 5'10” point guard from the host school played with good body control making crafty layups. Also banked in a step back three.

Andre Tucker (Leo – 2029)

Tucker is a small southpaw point guard. He really shined in the mid-range pouring them in pulling up!

[player_tooltip player_id='2383982' first='Isaac' last='Redfield'] (Lincoln Park – 2029)

Lincoln Park has a veteran squad this year, but Redfield is a name to look at in the future. The 6'1” guard has clean shooting mechanics and a projectable game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2544976' first='AJ' last='Williams III'] (Providence Catholic – 2029)

The 6'0” lead guard is an incoming freshman that is a capable spot up shooter knocking down treys off the catch. Also mixed in a nice sweeping layup.

[player_tooltip player_id='2949235' first='Kamari' last='Moore'] (Champaign Centennial – 2029)

The 5'9” central Illinois point guard did a nice job pushing the ball ahead with his passing in the open floor and scoring off cuts.

[player_tooltip player_id='2808987' first='Alexander' last='Hamilton'] (Joliet Catholic – 2029)

Hamilton is a smaller point guard at 5'9” that pushes the pace in transition and gets to the line. Athleticism showed on several reverse layups. Quickness off the bounce and changes pace.
