We are breaking down the conferences across the state previewing the upcoming season. Here is our look at the Central Suburban League!

Favorite

Evanston

We are going to go with co-favorites in the Central Suburban League. Evanston has been one of the most consistent programs in the state over the last decade. They win at a super high level including making a run to the state finals last year. They return two key players from that run in junior shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2540157' first='Vito' last='Rocca'] and sophomore combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2531970' first='Ben' last='Ojala']. Rocca is a plus shooter that brings toughness, defense, and moves well without the ball. Ojala can play both on and off the ball being able to get others involved while also scoring at a super high rate from beyond the arc and with his soft touch game.

New Trier

This team has one of the best backcourts in the state in point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1554516' first='Christopher' last='Kirkpatrick'] (Princeton) and sharp shooter [player_tooltip player_id='1552486' first='Danny' last='Houlihan'] (High Point). Kirkpatrick is a dynamic lead guard that is fun to watch. Brings a nice combination of skill, toughness, and flair to the table. Plus shooter from beyond the arc with slick handles and the ability to create for others. Houlihan is the premier catch and shoot guy in the state. Elite spot up southpaw that continues to improve his all-around game. Freshman big man [player_tooltip player_id='2405910' first='Denym' last='Wallace'] is going to impact from day 1 as a starter that brings rebounding, defense, and interior scoring. Maks DePolo, Elton Jagersong, and [player_tooltip player_id='2631375' first='Ben' last='Hamm'] will play key roles as well.

Contenders

Deerfield

Deerfield is led by Dartmouth commit [player_tooltip player_id='1552404' first='Jake' last='Pollack']. The lefty big man is an anchor inside with his rebounding in his area. Also is a plus spot up shooter that can stretch the floor with his shooting. The senior will be mentoring an intriguing freshman big man in [player_tooltip player_id='2798656' first='Zach' last='Newman'] who is on our watch list. [player_tooltip player_id='2217962' first='Evan' last='Nagler'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2369868' first='Charlie' last='Yellen'] will provide perimeter firepower.

Maine South

Like the 1-2 duo for Maine South. [player_tooltip player_id='2617446' first='Rico' last='D'Alessandro'] is a skilled combo forward that can play inside and out. Productive player that can handle it and get downhill. Good rebounder and plays really hard. [player_tooltip player_id='1883952' first='Panayiotis' last='Sotos'] emerged this summer as a lead guard who can really dish the rock and has a good frame. [player_tooltip player_id='2821378' first='Sasha' last='Matushevskiy'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2442192' first='Timo' last='Sakoufakis'] will provide depth here.

Sleepers

Glenbrook South

One of the best prospects in the conference is Glenbrook South face up post [player_tooltip player_id='2125637' first='Jacob' last='Fuller']. He spaces the floor and will be the man as a junior this season.

All-Prospect Team

[player_tooltip player_id='2125637' first='Jacob' last='Fuller'] (Glenbrook South)
[player_tooltip player_id='2540157' first='Vito' last='Rocca'] (Evanston)
[player_tooltip player_id='2531970' first='Ben' last='Ojala'] (Evanston)
[player_tooltip player_id='1554516' first='Christopher' last='Kirkpatrick'] (New Trier)
[player_tooltip player_id='1552486' first='Danny' last='Houlihan'] (New Trier)
[player_tooltip player_id='1552404' first='Jake' last='Pollack'] (Deerfield)
Rico D'Allesandro (Maine South)
[player_tooltip player_id='1883952' first='Panayiotis' last='Sotos'] (Maine South)

Sleeper Prospects

[player_tooltip player_id='2369922' first='Jayden' last='Dozie'] (Maine East)
[player_tooltip player_id='2405260' first='Daniel' last='Odhiambo'] (Vernon Hills)
[player_tooltip player_id='2920745' first='Price' last='Macon'] (Maine West)
[player_tooltip player_id='2217986' first='Trey' last='Nguyen'] (Niles West)
[player_tooltip player_id='2929482' first='Ben' last='Fillenwarth'] (Niles West)
[player_tooltip player_id='2875733' first='Osman' last='Khan'] (Niles North)
[player_tooltip player_id='2875759' first='Mustaf' last='Rexhepi'] (Niles North)
