The Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp is annually one of the best events to check out young talent each fall. This year was no different. Here I examine prospects that made noise in Pangos Frosh/Soph Camp: Illinois 2029 Wings!

[player_tooltip player_id='2915584' first='DK' last='Heard'] (Mt. Carmel – 2029)

Heard continues to hold the pole position for the top spot in the 2029 class. The Mt. Carmel 6'5” wing has big time physical tools with his combination of size and athleticism. Smooth and explosive handles getting wherever he wants on the floor. Attacks downhill with authority showing burst on his first step finishing with dunks and slick euro steps. Mixed in some jumpers including a nice turn around in the mid-range along with a corner three. Quick second jump on the glass including an impressive one handed put back on his own miss. When engaged on the defensive end he has a chance to be big time blocking jump shots and playing with intensity.

[player_tooltip player_id='2922280' first='Jalonny' last='Billingsley'] (Simeon – 2029)

One of the more physically impressive prospects in the 2029 class. Strong bodied small forward that snatches rebounds at a good level. Can slash for dunks and double clutch layups. Chance to be a very good defender when locked in on that end of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2859747' first='Kalel' last='Davis'] (De La Salle – 2029)

This long and wiry 6'5” wing wasn't super productive in the game we saw, but he jumps off the floor with his bounce and athleticism. Projectable freshman that can get on the offensive glass with his quickness and is a good shot blocker.

[player_tooltip player_id='2413941' first='Fitz' last='McDermott'] (St. Ignatius – 2029)

McDermott is going to be a name to watch moving forward for St. Ignatius. The shooting guard has solid size and strength at 6'2” with more room to grow. He is a creative ball handler that makes the right play with the rock whether it is dishing it or getting to the rack. Really good feel with the ball in his hands and can knock down an open shot off the catch or pulling up. Also competed defensively including getting a deflection.

[player_tooltip player_id='2948540' first='Emran' last='Alispahic'] (Niles Notre Dame – 2029)

The Niles Notre Dame 6'4” small forward brings a combination of strength and skill to the table. Strong with the basketball on his drives to the cup. Flashes versatility and should impact right away on varsity as a freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id='2947403' first='Orlando' last='Bohlen'] (Walter Payton – 2029)

The 2029 shooting guard from Payton is a good athlete that plays well in transition consistently getting to the rim. Like the motor and energy he brings to the table. Banked in a mid-range jumper as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2369925' first='Evan' last='Lemons'] (St. Laurence – 2029)

Lemons is a 6'3” wing that has burst on the scene in the last couple of months. Bouncy athlete that does a nice job of forcing the issue and getting to the charity stripe. Rebounds very well for a wing on both ends including pushing off the defensive glass. Best as a slasher and wing athlete in the open floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2986698' first='Mason' last='Spicer'] (Whitney Young – 2029)

Spicer is a left handed shooting guard at 6'0” that has a lot in his bag! Shot fake for a strong baseline take finishing for layup. Active on the defensive end including getting a steal which he pushed the other way throwing a lob off the backboard. Flashed potential as a spot up three point shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2389066' first='Miles' last='Marabella'] (Antioch – 2029)

Member of the top 40 watch list is this 6'4” small forward from Antioch. Plus athlete that rim runs and has burst off the bounce getting to the cup. Like his potential a lot on the defensive end as a shot blocker and rangy multi positional defender.

Javeon Williams (Sacred Heart Griffin – 2029)

Williams is a 6'1” thick bodied shooting guard. Did most of his damage around the hoop converting dump off passes, got on the offensive glass for second chance points, and scored in transition.

Zahari Threatt (De La Salle – 2029)

The 6'5” long and lanky small forward is a bouncy athlete that flashed some intriguing tools. Slashes with long strides, runs the floor, hit the offensive glass, and knocked in a crisp pull up jumper.
