Jalonny Billingsley
About Jalonny
Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the bounciest players at the event regardless of class, Jalonny was a walking highlight for Drako Elite on Saturday. The 2029 wing out of Simeon can jump out of the gym, and was slashing to the basket for a handful of explosive dunks against IL Bears. When he wasn’t trying to bring the rim down, Jalonny racked up a handful of assists with his vision and willingness to pass the ball ahead in transition. He sees the floor well and is able to deliver deep outlet passes up the floor to sprinting teammates. Already holds D1 offers as a football prospect, but is one to watch in Illinois’ 2029 class as a hooper as well.

Jalonny is a player that will turn heads in high school because of his athletic ability with size that knows how to play the game competitively. Has a higher ceiling to still go but displayed a lot of already established skills at the camp. Knocked down multiple spot up 3’s off the catch. Handles the ball to stretch the defensive bigs out. Made a text book pump fake and drive to finish in the lane. Defensively pick pocketed the ball handler to go the other way for an easy lay-in. Will speed the offense up making them initiate negative decisions. Plays hard with a strong will to help win games.

Billingsley has the physical tools to be a big time player. At 6’5” with broad shoulders, emerging strength, and plus athleticism he physically looks the part. He was at his best using his quickness, power, and burst getting downhill where he either scored or was fouled. Had a nice dunk off a pick/roll play. Snatches rebounds with physicality. Should be ready to impact at Simeon this season.
