Sunday, October 12th I attended John Millyard's annual Southern Arizona Showcase. It is a great way to see many prospects from Tucson in just one day at one gym. I probably watched 100+ players play two times each plus I watched the Top-20 Game.

Here was the all Tournament 3rd Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1303324' first='Jack' last='Van Amburg'] Catalina Foothills

An almost throwback real pure point guard who always plays from the neck up. He is a great passer and very patient and controlled. He just knows where everyone is supposed to be at on the court and has great timing on his passes. He can score it from the perimeter or get to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2884697' first='Chase' last='Butler'] Gregory School

A combo guard who can play on or off the ball. The lefty can score it a variety of ways. He shoots the three, he is fluid on the break to score it in transition, rips thru to the rim and likes using the floater game. He will also compete on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2628381' first='Enzo' last='Castillo'] Tanque Verde

A combo guard is a smooth ball handler and a knockdown three point shooter. The ball comes off of his hands so easily from the arc and he has a nice mid-range pull-up off the dribble. He will drive and kick it and make plays when he is not putting the ball in the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2990378' first='Kaden' last='Lea'] Buena

A bigger wing forward is a long and fluid athlete. He can step out and shoot the three and he is tough getting to the basket. He is very good in the passing lanes and he really competes on defense to block shots and rebounds in and out of his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560316' first='Gage' last='Lindsley'] Sahuaro

A scoring guard or combo is athletic and he can facilitate plus score. He will attempt or dunk it on the break with quickly improving bounce and he can pull-up off the dribble. He will get to the basket with good body control and rebound plus block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956214' first='Brandon' last='Nickels'] Mica Mountain

A true combo guard who will score and make plays. He is an unselfish passer and plays the right way. He will score with threes off the catch, moves without the ball and will stop and pop from mid-range. He plays the passing lanes to collect steals with good instincts and smartly plays off of two-feet to score or make a play.

[player_tooltip player_id='2134454' first='Kameron' last='Pippen'] Palo Verde

One of the strongest point guards in Tucson or in the AIA is a little undersized but he is a pure point guard who is always in control of the offense and pace. He changes speeds perfectly and he will get downhill with his powerful frame and speed. He gets to the FT line often with his aggressive play.

[player_tooltip player_id='1875584' first='Mykael' last='Nunez'] Mountain View

A highly skilled power forward who will score it from all three levels. He will hit the three off the catch with more consistency and loves the mid-range jumper. He will get on the glass with offensive rebound put backs and drive it to the basket. He is also a smart passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2135689' first='Jordan' last='Porter'] Mica Mountain

A scoring point guard is a little undersized but he is quick and fast with the ball in his hands. He will get to the basket with a nice first step and he is one of the better knockdown shooters from the three point line off the catch. He is also cerebral with the ball to make a play.

[player_tooltip player_id='2506450' first='Joshua' last='Salter'] Sahuaro (Pictured)

A skilled and intelligent scoring point guard. The southpaw sees the court with next level court vision and has the speed and tighter handle to create separation to get his shot from mid to the three point line. He will also fall away from his defender.
