is a tough combo guard that can help his team win with both his offense and defense. He is a threat to score when he gets downhill, and he can make difficult finishes. He also works hard on the defensive end, where he can poke the ball away and make deflections. He also doesn’t ball watch if there’s a rebound up for grabs, and he tracks down a good amount considering his height.

Salter had a breakout season with the Sahuaro Cougars that saw him win 4A Kino Region Defensive Player of the Year. Salter plays every game with a chip on his shoulder and plays every second with something to prove. A guard who’s hustle makes him the biggest rebounding threat on the floor in most games. He finished the season with 4 double doubles and finished with 10 or more rebounds in 8 games this season. He averaged 7.2 points, 3.0 assists, 7.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.7 blocks per game. One of his most notable games of the season game against region rival Ironwood Ridge where he finished with 4 points, 21 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks. Salter is a very impactful player and plays very unselfish. Salter will take on a much bigger role this season for the Cougars and will definitely be a player you’ll read a lot about.

In his matchup against Tucson, Salter was a little quiet in the first half in regards to the stat sheet but was a very effective defender. Showed to be a strong on ball defender who moved laterally very well keeping his opponents from getting to their spots. He came alive in the second half both defensively and offensively. Salter has good athletic ability and showed it getting up and blocking 3 shots in the half. He shot 4-5 including the game winning shot with 1.1 seconds left on the clock. Salter is developing very well and at a fast pace. Plays with a chip on his shoulder and has a strong drive.

After watching Salter quite a bit in his freshman season I’m really impressed with the maturity and growth I’m seeing in his sophomore year. Salter has found his role with the Cougars. An impressive utility player that plays with a strong motor. Rebounds like he’s the biggest player on the court. Dives for the 50/50s and makes the hustle plays. Very athletic. Can score at all three levels and makes the highlight dunks. Salter has proven this far to be an key component to a potential deep playoff run for the Cougars.

Salter continues to develop well. He had a great performance over the weekend. A very strong player on the defensive end. Tipping the ball away from opponents and rebounded very well. Salter is tapping into his athleticism and using it to his advantage to block shots and finish well inside the paint. Salter plays the game the right way and was one of my favorite players to watch this weekend.
