Van Amburg is just tough. His physical defensive play proves time and time again to be too much for opposing guards. One of the better full court on ball defenders at the Invitational. Came up with key steals and forced many turnovers. On the offensive end he gets a lot of paint touches and makes smart plays in traffic. Strong passer and and finishes strong through contact for the and one. Van Amburg is a high academic student and a highly effective player.

One of the top two way guards in the showcase. A strong on ball defender who guards the length of the court. Very strong motor and can flat out go. Disciplined with his hands and came up with steals throughout the day. High level in transition and makes the right reads. High IQ in all aspects of the game. Van Amburg will lead a new look for the Falcons and will find himself as a top player in his region.

Van Amburg plays with a very strong motor. Defensively was one of the better guards at the qualifiers. Picks up the length of the court putting relentless pressure on his opponents. Forces turnovers and makes great reads to come up with steals. Makes the hustle plays, diving for loose balls you name it. Skilled attacker can get to the rim and finish with either hand. Really nice floater finish. Gifted scorer through contact. High IQ on both sides. Picked up some college interests and I expect that to grow this season.
