This past Saturday, I spent my entire afternoon and night at Dana Barros Basketball Club in Stoughton, MA, taking in the talent from the Hoop Group Jam Fest. There was tons of talent present, and as always it was impossible to watch every kid from every high school division.

Tarro does all of the little things for BCRI. The 6-foot-3 swingman has excellent energy and a really impressive motor, so he's constantly crashing the glass for offensive and defensive rebounds and is always on the ground for loose balls. Offensively, Tarro can do a little bit of everything but really excels as a cutter and finisher above the rim. Defensively, his size and athleticism allows him to guard one through four, and his toughness and IQ makes him a great team defender. He will definitely find himself a D3 fit.

Delbrey is a big time athlete who can score from all three levels on the offensive end. Though his shot comes off his hands weirdly, he's relatively consistent and makes defenders close out on him as a result. Once they do, he does a good job attacking the lane and finishing above the rim with both hands. I would imagine prep schools are all over Delbrey, who's a senior at Classical High School in Rhode Island but has the ability to do a post grad year. Regardless, he'll have lots of D3 schools reaching out this year.

Torres is a bulldozer at the guard position who does a great job keeping his line on drives to the hoop. The 6-foot-1 point guard is strong and quick with his first step, and he has some surprisingly solid hops at the rim once he gets all the way there. His outside shot is streaky, and some improvements to his form would probably do wonders for his offensive game and thus his recruitment. Regardless, the senior guard does a good job finding shooters for spray outs once he touches the paint. He has what it takes to play hoops at the D3 level, and I'll be curious to see how he plays for Beverly this season. They should be one of the better teams in the MIAA.

Maxwell was completely dominant for Dana Barros in their Saturday night contest against Team NSSA. The 6-foot-4 wing utterly bullied opposing wings and guards under the hoop and then elevated consistently for easy layups and dunks. He also used dribble moves to get to his spots in the mid range and then rise up for easy shots over the defense. He's an explosive athlete who takes contact incredibly well at the rim and is always in attack mode. He should be one of the better players in the MIAA this season for Abington and should be getting tons of D3 looks after that.

Wilson is a fascinating prospect and athlete. The 6-foot-1 combo guard is incredibly quick and strong and elevates SO quickly, so he's tough to stop when darting to the rim. He has a knack for finishing effectively at the hoop and is always under control in the lane. I didn't see him shoot any outside shots, but I would imagine he's able to knock down the three ball with semi-consistency given his touch around the hoop. Wilson is an awesome prospect who should be garnering attention from the top D3 schools.
