Delbrey, a senior out of Classical, led his squad to a 14-5 record in the regular season and capped his high school career by being named the Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year. He finished the year averaging 27.2 points per game, will leave Classical as the school’s all-time leading scorer, and is one of nine players in Rhode Island history to pass the 2,000-point mark for his career (2,203 to be exact). On top of his scoring, he was a tenacious defender and one of the top turnover creators in the state, showing the ability to dominate games on both ends of the floor.

Plays well out of ball screens and does a good job finding others for scoring opportunities. Fills the lane in transition and shows good touch around the basket. Looks natural with the ball in his hands, displaying a solid handle and the ability to elude congestion. Creates separation for himself off the bounce and has a good grasp of the game, directing traffic within the flow of the offense. Sneaky athletic, he also shows the ability to finish and play effectively around the rim.

Delbrey, a senior guard out of Classical High School, recently became his school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,667 career points. The 6’1″ guard is a plus athlete that can really get out and make plays in the open floor. He finishes above the rim in space, can finish tough plays at the rim through contact, and is comfortable stepping into his jumper off the bounce from behind the three point line. He’s a true three level scorer that gets into his shot quicky in catch and shoot situations, shows high level instincts as an off-ball cutter, and has the ability to score in late-clock isolations situations off the bounce.

Delbrey, a senior guard from Classical High School, is as dynamic of a ball-handling guard as there is in the state. He has some real wiggle with the ball in his hands, a quick first step when he gets downhill, and a variety of finishing moves around the rim. He can make tough shots in the mid-range and continues to improve as a perimeter shooter. Defensively, his ability to guard in space stands out, as he uses his quickness to create steals and deflections.

Delbrey is a big time athlete who can score from all three levels on the offensive end. Though his shot comes off his hands weirdly, he’s relatively consistent and makes defenders close out on him as a result. Once they do, he does a good job attacking the lane and finishing above the rim with both hands. I would imagine prep schools are all over Delbrey, who’s a senior at Classical High School in Rhode Island but has the ability to do a post grad year. Regardless, he’ll have lots of D3 schools reaching out this year.

Delbrey, a guard at Classical, has guided his team to a 10-5 record and the #5 spot in Division I. One of the better athletes in Rhode Island, Delbrey has the ability to put up a double-double any time he steps on the floor. He’s already a 1,000 point scorer that has proven capable of having big scoring performances on the biggest stage. He gets it done at all three levels, but showcases a quick first step and the ability to finish with length and athleticism at the rim. He uses his physical tools to his advantage on the defensive side, proving to be disruptive in passing lanes and capable of cleaning up on the glass. Classical has a history of success and if they want to make a deep run this winter, Delbrey will need to make some noise.
