Wilson showed that he can find the hoop in different ways throughout the game. He has a strong frame that he uses to bully his way to spots and absorb contact when going up for scoring chances. Wilson found teammates in different spots on the floor with his passing. He is a natural playmaker and I like the way he processes the game on the fly.

Wilson is so fun to watch. He was House We Built HGSL’s most impactful player this weekend, even though he’s a rare archetype. The 6-foot-1 combo-guard can drive to the rim and finish athletically with both hands, but he can also facilitate and get his teammates involved when the defense collapses on him. What’s crazy, though, is that he’s also an excellent screener and short roll player who looks like a big man in certain situations. He rebounds incredibly well for his size, and he can guard guys significantly bigger than him because of his strength and toughness. Wilson is additive to ANY team or lineup. Heck of a player.

Wilson, a guard out of Trumbull High School in Connecticut, has proven to be one of the top offensive performers in the CIAC this winter. A big, athletic, and physical guard, he does a terrific job of filling whatever role he needs to on the offensive end of the floor. The lefty can really shoot the basketball from behind the arc, but impresses even more so with his ability to get downhill and make plays at, or above, the rim. On top of that, he has good instincts as a passer and impressive vision both in the half-court and in transition. Defensively, he can guard either spot in the back-court and does a nice job of playing physically on the ball. Wilson is another prospect that should be looked at as a high level recruit at the Division III level and should contribute right away at that level next year, however, in the right situation, I could see him being a quality late get for the right Division II program.

Wilson is a fascinating prospect and athlete. The 6-foot-1 combo guard is incredibly quick and strong and elevates SO quickly, so he’s tough to stop when darting to the rim. He has a knack for finishing effectively at the hoop and is always under control in the lane. I didn’t see him shoot any outside shots, but I would imagine he’s able to knock down the three ball with semi-consistency given his touch around the hoop. Wilson is an awesome prospect who should be garnering attention from the top D3 schools.

Wilson, a combo guard at Trumbull, lands at #189 after previously appearing on the Watch List. A gifted scorer, he has the ability to break down defenders in isolation situations, leading to baskets at multiple levels. He’s really good in catch and shoot situations, knows how to get downhill off the bounce, and can elevate over the defense in the mid-range. He plays with strength on the ball, does a nice job of running the floor in transition, and is first to the floor for loose balls. Defensively, he’ll defend either guard spot and is quick when jumping passing lanes.

I have no idea what position Wilson plays, because he can do literally everything. Shoot, pass, dribble, rebound, get to the hoop, etc. Defensively, he can guard all five positions due to his incredible lower body sturdiness and upper body strength. He really is a do-it-all athlete who should definitely find his way onto a D3 roster. Wilson was also playing up this weekend, but it was quite hard to tell. So curious to know what he would look like on a football field.
