About Abdou
Expert Analysis
Jack Pfeiffer | Prep Hoops Scout
Abdou, the 5-star senior committed to Arkansas, was showing out this weekend. He is an insane athlete, really impressing with his explosiveness for plays above the rim. He was must see TV in the open floor, also converting on tough contested drives to the basket. He is a major threat from beyond the arc as well, connecting with tough looks off of the dribble. Toure will be playing for the Razorbacks this upcoming collegiate season.

While Crowe set the scoring record and emerged with the win, Toure had every bit as impactful of a two-way performance despite leaving with a loss. The future Arkansas Razorback stuffed the stat sheet with 31 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 6 blocks, highlighted by a rim-rocking poster slam that wound up as the top play on SportsCenter. Toure used his violently explosive athleticism to wreak havoc around the rim on both ends of the floor, while also displaying his steadily improving skill level as a ballhandler and shotmaker. He left a positive impression on the swath of NBA scouts in attendance as he now sets his sights on a state title to close out his storied prep career.

Toure, a senior wing out of Notre Dame High School West Haven, will look to cap off his career with another state title. One of the top wing’s in the country, few can match his combination of scoring and athleticism. He continues to develop as a perimeter shooter, is a tough shot maker late in the shot clock. and has the ability to get to the rim whenever he wants off the bounce. He’s hard to guard in transition, rebounds on both ends of the floor, and can be a lockdown defender when he wants to be.

Toure is a high-flying athlete who brings excitement and energy every time he steps on the floor. He thrives in transition, finishing above the rim with ease and making highlight-reel plays. Beyond his athleticism, Toure is also skilled, showing the ability to handle the ball and score in a variety of ways. His combination of bounce and polish makes him a dangerous threat in the open court and half-court settings alike.

Toure might be the freakiest high school athlete I’ve ever seen in person. Yes, I said it. The 6-foot-6 wing is an absurd leaper who can jump off one or two feet and has an amazingly effective second jump if he misses a layup or floater at the hoop. He’s also super strong and can blow by defenders effortlessly with his quick first step. There isn’t any area of athleticism that he isn’t elite at. Oh, and he’s also a skilled shooter and ball handler with a willingness to pass. Toure took BABC home in the championship game on Sunday and is their best player in my opinion. Potential NBA player if he keeps working, although it’s very early.
