Egbuonu, a wing out of Lawrence Academy in Massachusetts, finished his senior season by earning the Class AA Player of the Year award. Egbuonu had a dominant senior season, showcasing his ability to make a two-way impact from the open tip all the way through the final buzzer. A powerful, but highly skilled, 6’7″ wing, he does a terrific job of getting to his spots as a scorer and improved every season with the consistency of his perimeter jumper. He can handle in transition, is a powerful finisher at the rim, and does a nice job of competing on the glass on both ends of the floor. He will continue his academic and athletic careers in the fall at Marquette.

Egbuonu mismatch nightmare game was seen throughout. He did a nice job making plays for others with his passing and got shooters the ball at a blink of an eye. He had 31 points in a losing effort. Alex has no issue crashing the glass and puts himself in good spots to shag rebounds.

Egbuonu, a senior wing out of Lawrence Academy, set a career high for scoring in back-to-back games leading up to the holiday. The Top 100 prospect had 43 points in a win over Worcester Academy on December 17th, following that up with 46 points in a win over Cheshire Academy on December 19th. The 6’7″ wing continues to score it at an incredibly efficient rate, showing a great combination of athleticism, power, skill, and touch. Most notable is the evolution of his perimeter jumper and his consistency of shot making, as he knocked down 10 threes in the Cheshire game.

First impression of the Marquette commit is that Shaka gets a Big East ready physical athlete. He will be able to wear guys down next year and for years to come. He stretches the floor off the bounce, catch and shoot situations or in transition. He will get to the foul line multiple times a game. Leads the fast break on this Lawrence team at times but has quality vision with his interior passing skills.

Egbuonu, a wing out of Lawrence Academy, continued his stretch of dominant two-way play last weekend. The Marquette commit plays with a great combination of athleticism, power, and skill, allowing him to operate as a versatile offensive weapon. He scores it at all three levels, uses his frame to his advantage as a driver, and continues to show that he can knock down shots from behind the arc. On the other end, his ability to rebound in traffic stands out, as does his willingness to sit in a stance and work defensively on the perimeter.

Egbuono was insanely dominant in Lawrence Academy’s Saturday night win against Mount Saint Charles. The 6-foot-7 wing/big is simply too strong and athletic for anyone to contend with, and he uses his physicality to bully defenders under the rim before dunking on their heads. He didn’t even need to use his outside shot to score on Saturday, because he gets to the rim at will and cannot be moved off his spot. Egbuonu is going to walk into playing time at Marquette next season, and I think he has a pretty good opportunity to take the college world by storm.

Egbuonu was one of the top performers on the travel circuit this summer while playing with BABC. The Lawrence Academy wing is a powerful athlete, versatile defender, and high IQ decision maker. Long known for his physical gifts, he’s made major strides with his skill in the last year, becoming one of the most consistent and efficient scorers in the country. His ability to score at all three levels stands out, as does the evolution of his shot creation ability in isolation situations. He’s a guy that can get 20 a night on a low volume due to his efficiency and shot selection. A high major recruit, he’s lined up visits this fall to Boston College, Georgetown, Providence, Stanford, Florida State, and Auburn.
