Preseason Player of the Year: 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1172887' first='Tevin' last='Schultz'] (Senior)

Senior is the team to beat in the division this year, and Schultz is their best player, making this a pretty straight forward selection. His ability to score from all three levels as well as control the glass and defend multiple positions makes him the most versatile two-way player in the division.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1172887' first='Tevin' last='Schultz'] (Senior): 18.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 58.2 FG%, 43.5 3P%

A strong, physical forward who can score from anywhere on the floor, Schultz is a dominant offensive weapon who is nearly impossible to defend at this level. He can take bigger players off the dribble or dominate smaller players on the block with his strength and footwork.

2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2118611' first='Jerimiah' last='Washpun'] (Liberty): 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists

The leading returning scorer in the division, Washpun had a fantastic sophomore season for the Lightning and will once again be asked to control the game on both ends of the floor. His speed, ball-handling, and shot making, especially from the mid-range, are among the best in the 2027 class around the state.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1765554' first='AJ' last='Evans'] (Xavier): 11.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 2.0 blocks, 56.6 FG%

A James Madison commit, Evans is a remarkable rim protector who averaged two blocks a game as a junior and then followed it up with a great spring and summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2246861' first='Murray' last='Elite']. A 6-8 forward who runs the floor well, he can provide a ton of versatility on the defensive end of the floor while his offensive game is still developing.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1765555' first='Drake' last='Medinger'] (Senior): 13.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 52.1 FG%, 50.0 3P%, 81.6 FT%

A highly athletic wing scorer, Medinger was extremely efficient as a junior, posting 52-50-82 shooting splits while serving as a secondary scoring threat alongside Schultz. With those two in tow, the Rams will be really tough to beat in the division.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2204894' first='Tyler' last='Hilton'] (Linn-Mar): 11.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals, 61.9 FG%

Hilton enjoyed a breakout junior year for the Lions, helping lead them to the state tournament. He's a long, athletic, physical defender who can guard one through four at this level. He's great around the rim, can create off the dribble, and has good vision. He'll be the focal point for Linn-Mar as a senior.
