Cooper Porter Cooper Porter 5'11" | PG Senior | 2026 State IA did about everything you want your lead guard to do in this game. His playmaking and initiation of the offense really stood out to me. He showed himself to be a smooth operator that conducts the offense at a high level. And he was great as a reliable ball handler that handled ball pressure with calmness and kept the ball out of harm’s way. He read his team’s offensive actions very well and was great at finding his teammates for open shots. His post entry passes were elite and allowed his big men to go to work in the paint. And in general, Cooper was elite at making decisive moves and getting downhill, which created many advantages for his offense, and he was great at making quick reads and making the defense pay. Cooper was great as a three-point shooter in this game as well. He displayed a very compact and fast release that allowed him to drain shots from downtown and get defenders to bite on his pump fakes. He was also a very energetic defender on the ball.

A pass-first guard who does a great job limiting turnovers and setting his teammates up, Porter averaged 8.0 points and 3.0 assists per game with a 2.28 assist-to-turnover ratio as a junior. He’s a talented ball-handler, strong on-ball defender, and a team-first player who will do anything asked of him to help his team win.
