Prep Hoops MD Expo: Team 10 Report

Team 10 camp team at the Maryland Team Expo featured a dynamic blend of talent and versatility, showcasing a roster that featured two of the top players in the camp in [player_tooltip player_id='2800822' first='Toby' last='Echebi'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2969565' first='Blaine' last='Kalaw'].    Abass is a smart, composed guard who governs the flow of the offense. He doesn't force play, instead relying on strong decision-making and efficiency. Defensively, he competes with toughness, while offensively, he's consistent at running the floor and making the right reads.     Goings is a dual-threat guard who impacts the game as both a scorer and playmaker. He thrives in transition, makes sharp reads, and has the vision to find teammates in scoring positions. His ability to control pace while still applying pressure makes him a tough matchup and intriguing two-way guard.     A compact, tenacious lead guard who effectively runs the offense, Josh spaces the floor with consistent three-point shooting and creates opportunities for teammates off the dribble. Defensively, he uses his quickness and anticipation to pressure ball-handlers and generate turnovers at the point of attack.     Wiggleworth looks like a young guard that shows poise and maturity. He can create offense for himself and others while maintaining efficiency. His ability to run sets, read defenses, and make simple but effective decisions sets him apart as a reliable lead guard.     Kalaw is a dual-threat guard who impacts the game as both a scorer and playmaker. He thrives in transition, makes sharp reads, and has the vision to find teammates in scoring positions. His ability to control pace while still applying scoring pressure makes him a tough matchup.     Edwards is a smart, composed guard who governs the flow of the offense. He doesn't force play, instead relying on strong decision-making and efficiency. Defensively, he competes with toughness, while offensively, he's consistent at running the floor and making the right reads.     Second time watching Toby and he continues to stand out as one of the Top freshmen in the DMV and Middle Atlantic region. Toby is a high-motor wing forward who brings energy and versatility to the floor. He makes smart decisions out on the perimeter and in the post. Can step out and knock down shots comfortable from 19 feet and in and consistently provides value as a rebounder. Echebi attacks closeouts with confidence, can finish at the rim through contact, and consistently makes the extra pass when opportunities arise. He can create with the ball in his hands, but he's at his best in spot-up situations and moving effectively without the ball to find open space. I look for Toby to consistently impact both ends of the floor, bringing toughness, energy, and tremendous value to his Largo team every time he steps on the court for the next four years.     Jason is a strong, aggressive driver who consistently makes winning plays for his team. He facilitates the offense, and brings a vocal, commanding presence on the floor. Bridges showed throughout the one-day camp he is willing to compete and get after it on both ends of the court.     Eval Note: Didn't see Ethan at the event but here's a scouting report on Ethan Harris from a previous event I have watched. Ethan has proven time after time that he could be a hidden gem for a program that is starting to churn out some prospects. He passes the eye test with his size at 6'4, his IQ and feel, and his ability to be a consistent scorer. Ethan understands his ability to make the right decision, seeing the floor and playing with the offense, but also to be a shot-maker on the court. He consistently can get to his spots and rise up from multiple levels but also uses his size well to body through defenders to score.     A raw, unpolished big man who shows intriguing potential on both ends of the floor. He runs the court well for his size, using his natural length to rebound, block shots, and disrupt passing lanes defensively. While his offensive game is still a work in progress, Spriggs' ability to impact the game with his energy, shot blocking, and rebounding makes him a valuable presence inside. As he continues to develop his skills and refine his offensive approach, Spriggs has the tools to become a significant contributor in the paint in time with strength and playing time.
