High School Spotlight: South Bend St. Joseph Huskies

The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and notable games for the upcoming season. Over the course of the past year, there may not have been a player that has seen his stock rise much as what the son of Notre Dame head coach, Micah Shrewsberry, has. Last season saw him average over 13.0 point and with a role of being "the guy" you can expect to see those number take a massive boost. With athleticism and true shooting ability, Shrewsberry is one of the more exciting prospects in the 2026 class this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Players: [player_tooltip player_id='2140359' first='Elijah' last='King']/[player_tooltip player_id='2101318' first='Peyton' last='Miamba']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/justin-kirby/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While we always try to look at one player in this series, with SBSJ, it is hard to pick just one and the two we are going with are 2027 prospects [player_tooltip player_id='2140359' first='Elijah' last='King'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2101318' first='Peyton' last='Miamba']. King is a player that we are familiar with for SBSJ as he was a factor in the backcourt for the Huskies during his sophomore year. Miamba will be transferring over to SBSJ from Penn and will immediately give the Huskies a major boost on the perimeter. Both guys also provide some good athletic ability and defense, as well.
