South Bend St. Joseph improved to 14-4 on the season with an 83-70 win over Chicago Mt. Carmel (IL) on Saturday. It was their seventh straight victory. Miamba, a versatile junior forward, turned in one of his best performances of the season finishing with 25 points and 7 rebounds for the Huskies.

We came away very impressed with Miamba’s play at the Metro Indy Fall League. The junior at South Bend St. Joseph looked to have gotten a bit bigger and stronger since watching him over the summer while maintaining his fluid athleticism and two-way versatility. Miamba really stood out on the boards with a few athletic rebounds and on the rim-run with some athletic finishes in transition. Look for him to really make an impact in the South Bend St. Joseph frontcourt as the reigning Class 3A State Champions transition up to Class 4A.

A highly versatile wing, Miamba has moved to South Bend St. Joseph High School after two years of varsity experience at Penn. The 6’5″ Miamba was in the starting lineup for the defending Class 3A State Champions for much of the summer and appears to be fitting in nicely with a very talented roster.

Miamba is a true “hybrid-forward” type that displays impressive ball skill along with size, strength, and athleticism at his young age. The 6’6″ forward was able to carve out a role at the varsity level for Penn as a freshman averaging 3.8 points per game and is part of a very talented young core for the Kingsmen that will make noise for years to come. Interested to watch his develop and see if he ends up tracking more towards a “3” at the college level or if he will grow into a face-up 4-man type of role.
