<p>The Cardozo Clerks knocked off the defending champion Jackson Reed Tentley Tigers in a back-and-forth battle! Cardozo took the 53-52 win after taking a late lead over JR and staying ahead throughout an intense 4th quarter. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2242030' first='Flynn' last='Rillstone'] enjoyed one of the best performances of his 2025 season. Had a crucial team-leading 21 points along with 10 rebounds for a team that needed his scoring in a tight game. He made shots from the post either fading away or taking contact to the rim. Flynn provided a large amount of second-chances for Cardozo off of misses. Made some key putbacks to save empty possessions for the Clerks to keep pace with a dangerous Tentley Tiger opponent. Did not back down from his matchup with [player_tooltip player_id='1370505' first='Josiah' last='Massaquoi'] and battled the UMASS Lowell commit.</p>

<p>Backcourt brothers [player_tooltip player_id='2612056' first='Cameron' last='Young'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2675487' first='Joell' last='Young'] played with toughness and hit crucial shots during the game. The twins always present and gritty defensive presence that effects the opposition all game long. This night vs Jackson Reed was no different.</p>

<p>Last season, the Tentley Tigers overcame their halftime deficit and won the title game. This year, Cardozo remained strong and maintained their slim lead through most of the second half. They played a hard-nosed brand of basketball that got them the gritty DCSAA A Championship</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Friendship Tech Prep Secures 4th Straight Title</h2>

<p>Friendship Tech walked through the competition to grab their 4th straight Public Charter School Conference championship. They took down Friendship Collegiate 85-36 then handled the Cesar Chavez Parkside Eagles 77-43 in the title game.</p>

<p>Tech Prep has benefited from the services of seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1370494' first='David' last='Bumpass'], [player_tooltip player_id='1371871' first='Daniel' last='Bumpass'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1414532' first='Aidan' last='Haskins'] over the years as they have come away with a few PCSAA Championships in their career. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='1782661' first='Malik' last='Shackleford'], [player_tooltip player_id='1782601' first='Nazaire' last='Hinton'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2148719' first='Mekhi' last='Polk'] will look to take a larger role next season to compete for Friendship's 5th straight banner.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">KIPP Legacy Wins First Title</h2>

<p>KIPP DC Legacy won their first ever Public Charter School Division A championship over the No. 1 seed Digital Pioneers. They had an incredible season led by [player_tooltip player_id='2722713' first='Marlon' last='Calhoun'] and freshman wing [player_tooltip player_id='2524445' first='Kaleb' last='Clark'].</p>

<p>Kaleb had an incredible championship game, putting up 21 points and adding in 16 rebounds. Marlon and [player_tooltip player_id='2760810' first='Jeremiah' last='Steele'] provided leadership that was needed to get to the championship. Their contributions late in the 2nd half were recognized. Kipp Legacy now heads into states with a lot of their momentum on their side as the #1 seed.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sidwell Captures 4th Straight Championship </h2>

<p>Sidwell Friends capped off another season with a Mid-Atlantic Conference championship. They defeated Flint Hill 60-50 after losing their previous matchup to the Huskies earlier this season. The Quakers bounced back nicely from their late-season upset loss with this strong postseason push. [player_tooltip player_id='1782594' first='Jalyn' last='Collingwood'] led the way with 26 points in the title game. Sidwell will now look on to the DC state tournament where they clinched a first-round bye as the No. 2 seed, awaiting the winner of Cardozo (7) v McKinley Tech (10).</p>
