We’ve written about Haskins a times in the past month as he is starting to become a much more consistent performer in his senior season. A pick n pop threat that can also knock down shots beyond the arc, Haskins is becoming a much more consistent rebounder and roll target in the paint to get easy ones for his team. His activity on the defensive end gives his team much more flexibility with rotations as he can guard out on the wing or in the paint.

-Haskins showed his value in this one by exhibiting toughness in the paint to rebound and score through contact. The Hampton commit hit a beautiful pump fake to take advantage of a hard closeout before crossing over and getting to the rim for the And1 layup, hit a pretty pull-up 2 in the paint off the dribble, and scored a transition lay off of 2 feet off glass. Liked his intensity from him throughout the game in this one, not settling for jumpers even though they were falling to get his team the best possible look at the basket. Showed great timing and improved defensive awareness to block 2 shots from behind to maintain a 2-possession lead for his team down the stretch of their road win.

is a fun prospect and someone who left an impression on me this weekend. Aidan has a lot of the tools you look for in a wing today. He has great length, is 6’8”, and he has a nice handle. Aidan can knock down threes with nice range as well. Aidan has the potential to blossom into something special at the next level. Aidan finished with 23 points, and 9 rebounds for Friendship Tech.

The lean lefty wing was very impressive in Friendship Tech Prep’s matchup with Georgetown Prep. Haskins utilized a trick handle, smooth shooting and shotmaking versatility to excel. He sinked multiple threes including a deep catch-and-shoot as well as a shifty pullup jumper. There is so much more upside to tap into with Haskins. He’s a must track prospect.

-Haskins finished 4/6 from beyond the arc and was really big down the stretch in a valiant performance from Tech Prep against one of the area’s deepest teams. The lefty Hampton commit moved well off the ball to create space for C+S looks but also used jab steps/screens/ side steps to get off clean looks at the rim that dropped through the center of the net. His attention to detail defensively is much-improved as is his conditioning. Liked how well he was scanning the floor as a secondary playmaker from the wing that found his teammates on back cuts and for open perimeter jumpers in the secondary break in a very up and down game.

I could not believe what I was watching when I saw the 6’8 wing bringing the ball up the court to get in the paint for mid-range jumpers over smaller defenders. He has enough handle right now to get anywhere he wants and once he raises up for that lefty jumper you can take the ball out. His arm length looks like he’s about 6’10 out there and he’s a great spot up shooter. I don’t think by the end of the summer I will be calling too many wings that are better than the Tech Prep wing.

With good positional size and length, Haskins has a good bit of upside as a stretch 4/wing prospect that can do a little bit of everything. Enjoyed the flashes as a shooting wing that has enough ball skills to impact the game as a shooter, rebounder, and play-finisher around the rim. I think the handle and burst need to improve for him to project as a wing at the D1 level, while the strength and balance would need to improve to project as a 4 at the D1 level– but he’s capable of getting there.
