Previous Rank: 81
-Our second Tech Prep stockriser of the cycle, Bumpass has earned a starting role as a steadying presence on the wing. Bumpass serves as a great connector because he sees the floor well and can execute on snap decision passing windows by throwing accurate one-handed dimes with either hand. The handle has improved to make him a more effective scorer off the bounce, often earning a trip to the FT line on his forays to rim if he doesn’t score outright. Bumpass also serves a crucial role in his team’s defensive schemes, flying around defensively and communicating well whether he is on the ball or on the back line to help his team navigate schemes or dissect actions before they are executed in the halfcourt.

17p 15r 7a 1s vs Theodore Roosevelt
-Has really impressed our scouts this month as one of the most important players–if not THE most important player– for a very good Tech Prep team. Bumpass serves as a great connector from the perimeter that is always looking to find the open man in the halfcourt. Bumpass has been much more assertive at the offensive end of the floor as a scorer too, scoring in a variety of ways in this win over T Rose. Bumpass scored on a great flash to the rim to time an And1 putback through the contact, drove straight down the middle of the defense for a floater off glass, hit a running lefty off glass past a big, and hit two finger rolls after blowing past his matchup from the perimeter. Figures to be a stockriser in this week’s 2025 rankings update!

13p 6r 1a 1b vs Christ School
-Such an important piece for a Friendship Tech team that has sought out ALL the smoke. Bumpass defends at a high level without fouling, provides shooting from the wings, can guard 1-4 at the high school level, and makes a quick read while still making the right play. He got it going with a sweep and drive downhill for the lay, showed patience and IQ by hitting a retreat dribble to evade a double team before slicing downhill for the lay, and had a big C+S bucket from the top of the key to make it a single-digit game. Even while playing through foul trouble that eventually ended his night early, he stayed aggressive offensively and covered his teammate’s defensive mistakes on the perimeter to keep in front of his man on ball screen islands. Cerebral, steady guard prospect that will help a college team win games at the next level.

Daniel had a very efficient and consistent weekend for Tech Prep as they finished 1-1. He effected the game in many different ways for the team, pulling down rebounds and passing the ball around, finishing with 4+ assists/rebounds each in both his games. David showcased his ability to penetrate the lane and dish out to shooters at a consistent level. He made some big baskets in the tight game with McNamara. Knocked down a couple threes and broke through the crowded lane to get a look at the basket frequently, drawing fouls and completing strong contact layups. Impressive all-around showing in a double dosage of weekend games from the senior guard.

Possesses similar skillset to his twin brother. Possesses all of the makings of an excellent college prospect. Clear athletic instincts and useful skillset, but also standing out defensively. Finished the game with 17 points, 3 assists and 3 steals.

-Played a big role in a late push from Friendship Tech that ended with a close loss to St. Rose. Daniel came off the bench late in the 2H and calmly began knocking down perimeter shots, hit a floater through contact in the paint, and snaked away some offensive rebounds to finish with 14 points on the night.
