Updated Player Rankings: Amari Allen takes over top spot in 2025

In this article:
It's splitting-hairs time when it comes to trying to rank the state's top boys' basketball players in the loaded 2025 class.
The top 10 players have each committed to NCAA Division I programs, and each is having a strong senior season for their respective schools.
When you look at the top four players in the class, all are ranked by Rivals.com in their national list of the top 150 players in the country.
And, depending on the day, any one of the four could legitimately be called the best in the state.
But at the halfway point of the 2024-25 season, Ashwaubenon senior

has emerged as the most consistent performer and thus takes over the No. 1 ranking in the updated Prep Hoops Wisconsin Player Rankings released today.
The 6-foot-7 Allen is having nothing short of a monster season for an Ashwaubenon team that lost four starters to graduation.
Allen, an Alabama recruit who is ranked No. 64 by Rivals, is averaging 33.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 7.8 assists while helping the Jaguars to a 10-3 record. His ability to rip down a defensive rebound, bring the ball up the court, and get into the lane or kick the ball to an open teammate is nearly impossible to stop.
Allen gets to the foul line at an extremely high rate and is shooting 60 percent from the field, 77 percent from the line and 33 percent from outside the arc.
Allen attended Kaukauna as a freshman before playing the past two seasons at IMG Academy. He returned to Wisconsin for his senior season in order to be closer to his family, which had moved into the Ashwaubenon district.
Allen might have been at his best against one of the state's best teams as he had 43 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists in an 83-82 Fox River Classic Conference loss to De Pere.
