Expert Analysis
Mark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
The era of playing second fiddle for Momcilovic is over as he becomes the focal point of the Pewaukee attack this season after deferring to his older brother, Milan, two years ago and to prolific guard Nick Janowski last winter. Momcilovic improved as much as any other player in the state’s 2025 class since the end of last season. He picked up a slew of NCAA Division II offers in June and then landed some Division I offers in July. He eventually committed to St. Thomas and now is geared up for a big senior season. Momcilovic is a good shooter, solid on the blocks and a good passer. He averaged 12.3 points and 6.7 rebounds last season as Pewaukee went 25-5 and lost to Wisconsin Lutheran in the WIAA Division 2 state-title contest.

Momcilovic had a strong junior season and then played exceptionally well for Chapman Basketball Academy during the spring/summer. His strong play the past several months earned him a boatload of NCAA Division II scholarship offers, including Augustana, Drury Lewis, Michigan Tech, Minnesota-Duluth, Minnesota State – Mankato, Northern Michigan, Northwood, Rockhurst, Saginaw Valley State and Winona State. The state’s No. 7-ranked senior by Prep Hoops Wisconsin, Momcilovic is the younger brother of current Iowa State standout, Milan Momcilovic. Like his older brother, Luka boasts good size and an intriguing skill set. He can make perimeter shots and has improved his long-distance accuracy since the end of the high school season. Momcilovic can also rebound and guard bigs in the post while also taking bigs away from the basket on the other end of the court.
