A physically strong and bouncy forward, Gerdes came off the bench for CBA West Friday and immediately provided a spark to his team with his scoring, communication and aggressiveness. A tough player to keep out of the paint because of his strength and eagerness to get to the basket, Gerdes scored 12 of his 13 games in the first half to help CBA West stay within 36-28 of Playmakers East Premier at intermission. As a junior at Pewaukee, Gerdes averaged 9.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Pirates.
