Expert Analysis
Chris Robinson | Prep Hoops Scout
Garlock, a UW-Madison commit, earned First Team honors by anchoring Middleton’s interior both offensively and defensively. Standing at 7 feet tall, he averaged 13 points and 8 rebounds per game. He helped lead Middleton to an 11–7 conference record. Garlock’s rim presence, court awareness, and upside made him a nightmare matchup. He was one of the Big Eight’s most impactful players.

Garlock remains day-to-day as the season gets underway as he continues to recover from a foot injury that kept him out all spring and summer. The mobile 6-foot-11 forward committed to Wisconsin over the summer, joining Kinziger in the Badgers’ 2025 recruiting class. Garlock’s upside remains very strong as he can score facing the basket and in the paint. He runs the floor very well, can block/alter shots and is an unselfish teammate. Garlock averaged 16.5 points and 8.2 rebounds for Middleton as a junior, helping the Cardinals to a 13-12 record. Besides regaining 100 percent health, one of the next biggest areas Garlock wants to improve is his foul shooting as he made just 49 percent of his tries from the line on 131 attempts last year.

Read EvaluationMark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
Ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the state’s 2025 class by Prep Hoops Wisconsin, Garlock is recovering from an injury sustained right after the high school season. He missed all of the spring/summer club year, but did announce his commitment to coach Greg Gard and the University of Wisconsin during that time period. A big man who runs the floor and can play inside and outside, Garlock is a developing prospect with a big upside as he continues to gain strength and weight. He is a capable shooter from the mid range and can make three-point shots as well. But he needs to improve his foul shooting as he made just 49 percent of his attempts from the line as a junior. Garlock also needs to step up his aggressiveness and his ability to dominate games. But he might be eager to do both of those things as a senior and become a force in a talented Big Eight Conference.
