Parks is a key piece for a Middleton squad looking to contend for the Big Eight Conference championship next winter. An extremely vertical and physically strong forward, Parks uses polished foot work in the lane to shed defenders and finish off the glass or with a nice dunk. Although just 6-foot-3, Parks nonetheless repeatedly scores over taller defenders because of his quick and powerful moves in the post. He showed this spring with Foundation AAU he is also developing an effective mid-range baseline jump shot to go along with his aggressive moves to the basket.

An athlete with strength, bounce, skill and the desire to be really good. That pretty much sums up Parks, who was outstanding for Foundation Athletics South in wins over MTXE Premier and Wisconsin Hoops Select on Saturday. He scored the winning basket off an offensive rebound in the closing seconds of Foundation Athletics ‘ 59-58 win over Wisconsin Hoops Select in the quarterfinal round of the championship bracket. Parks finished the game with 20 points, which included a massive one-handed flush. Parks started for Middleton as a sophomore and averaged 13.7 points while shooting 57 percent from the floor.

Parks’ ability to finish plays near the basket is vitally important for Middleton, making it difficult for the opposition to put too much defensive emphasis on just stopping the Cardinals’ stellar guards. Parks’ ability to provide a physical defensive presence in the lane on the other end makes it tough for opponents to finish in the paint. Parks can attack the basket from the wing or on a dive to the hoop while also having the ability to play and score with his back to the basket. He is having a strong season for a very good Middleton squad as he is averaging 12.6 points per game while shooting 55 percent from the floor. He also tops the Cardinals with 89 rebounds through 11 games (8.1 rpg).
