Once again, this Lawrence North team looks to be a contender for Class 4A and a lot of that has to do with their elite front court. While I could also include [player_tooltip player_id='1729136' first='Brennan' last='Miller'] on this, for this one in particular I am going to go with his front court running mate, [player_tooltip player_id='1509229' first='Kai' last='McGrew']. The 6'8 junior power forward has really showcased himself in this young season by averaging a near double-double in both points and rebounds. You would be hard-pressed to find a power forward in the state with a higher motor than McGrew on both ends of the floor. He could be a difference maker when Lawrence North faces Greenfield-Central.

It won't be very often you see a watch list not feature the favorite to win Indiana Mr. Basketball and that won't be the case here as [player_tooltip player_id='1296984' first='Braylon' last='Mullins'] is for sure a player to watch this weekend. The UConn signee has already showcased just what an incredible player he is this year with his 41-point performance last week at Sneakers 4 Santa vs Ben Davis. This weekend, Mullins will be on the big stage again at Southport with another chance to shine against a very good Lawrence North team. Everyone needs to watch him before he heads to UConn.

The 2026 in-state is full of players that are so close to breaking out into "elite" status and Noblesville junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1534261' first='Justin' last='Curry II'] is one of them. With a more important role this season than what he had the last couple of years, Curry II has started to blossom into the player we at Prep Hoops Indiana saw him as. He will easily be one of the best shot-makers this weekend at Southport without question. Excited to see what he can do vs a very good Jeffersonville squad.

There is without question a lot of talented teams that will be in the Southport gym on Saturday with Jeffersonville being one of them and that is big thanks to Wright State signee [player_tooltip player_id='1297093' first='Michael' last='Cooper'] leading them. There have been a ton of stock-risers in the in-state 2025 class and Cooper has been one of them. With Northwestern signee [player_tooltip player_id='1388408' first='Tre' last='Singleton'] still out, Cooper has been one of the players to step up with his 20.3 points per game so far. This do-it-all guard will put on a show this weekend vs Noblesville.

This Fishers team may be once again the favorite to win the Class 4A state championship bringing back nearly everyone from the team that did it a year ago. While there were going to be some gaps to fill this year, there were also going to be some players that needed to step into larger roles. 2027 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2267046' first='Jason' last='Gardner Jr.'] has stepped up into a major role increase and the Tigers are benefiting from it. Through 4 games, Gardner Jr. is the leading scorer with 16.3 points as well as leading the team in assists with 4.5 a game. When it comes to pure prospects in the gym on Saturday, Gardner Jr. may be at the top of that list.

The Crispus Attucks team has really showed no signs of struggle being without their main guys, [player_tooltip player_id='1297019' first='Dezmon' last='Briscoe']. The reason being is that multiple guys have stepped up in his absence with one of them being senior guard and Indiana-South Bend signee [player_tooltip player_id='1297004' first='Chris' last='Hurt']. He is currently the team's second leading scorer with 14.4 points per game while also adding 7.0 assists per game as well. He will be one of the more controlled and playmaking guards in the gym on Saturday.
