What teams have a depth of players that can do things around the basket? We give you the top ten frontcourts in the state of Minnesota.

CLARIFICATION. To the mothers and the fathers and the coaches and the players of this great state..... If you are listed here that DOES NOT MEAN you are viewed exclusively viewed as a big or a frontcourt player and it DOES NOT MEAN you can't play skillfully too. This is not some damning item...... It just means you are a tall player that can do things around the basket and in many cases, away from it! Okay? Thanks.

TOP TEN FRONTCOURTS

(1) Cretin-Derham Hall. The Raiders have the state's top big in [player_tooltip player_id='1310206' first='Tommy' last='Ahneman'] who just committed to Notre Dame. He's rated by those outside of Minnesota as the top prospect in the state's senior class. He is joined by combo forward [player_tooltip player_id='2126094' first='Ty' last='Schlagel'] who is the best sophomore in the state. And don't forget, the Raiders still have 6'5 Monteff Dixon who was fifth team all State in Class AAAA last year.

(2) Wayzata. They may not have a lot of Trojan varsity experience outside of senior [player_tooltip player_id='1454976' first='Wyatt' last='McBeth'] but the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] have a lot of frontcourt depth. The 6'7 McBeth scored 10 points a game last year and he will be joined by EP junior transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1560778' first='Nolen' last='Anderson'] who is one of the state's better shooters (can play either forward spot at 6'7). Another 6'7 guy is senior Nick Nordaune who had a great 17u season and 6'4 strong man [player_tooltip player_id='1560847' first='Thomas' last='Shunmugavelu'] who was fantastic at 16u. Throw in 6'5 [player_tooltip player_id='1560801' first='Brady' last='Lam'] who was great for Select at 16u and this is an excellent group.

(3) Farmington. At 6'9 they have sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2126447' first='Briggs' last='Sheridan'], a top ten prospect in his class. At 6'6/6'7 they have [player_tooltip player_id='2126465' first='Tommy' last='Schabert'] who is a hard working rebounding sophomore. At 6'5/6'6 they have [player_tooltip player_id='1575348' first='Cole' last='Wilcek'] who is one of the best high school passing bigs I have seen and a 17 first team all State player. At 6'5 they have Nik Domier who scored nearly ten a game last season. And at 6'5 they have Marshall Gordan who came off the bench last year scoring five a game. Wilcek, Domier, and Gordan are all seniors, Schabert and Sheridan are sophomores. You can't play them all of course but the Tigers have the most frontcourt depth.

(4) St. Louis Park. This is [player_tooltip player_id='1589407' first='Marley' last='Curtis'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1874916' first='Micah' last='Curtis'], the twins headed to North Dakota. Marley will shoot it a bit more and handle it some more with comfort, Micah will come at you in the paint with boards and dunks in bulk. They are both 20 and 10 guys and most teams will not have a match-up for both.

(5) Alexandria. It starts with the Mr. Basketball favorite [player_tooltip player_id='1572690' first='Chase' last='Thompson'] who just committed to Clemson and that is of course the headliner. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2126865' first='Grady' last='Starzl'] will surely help and while they aren't bigs, [player_tooltip player_id='2115658' first='Myles' last='Gray'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2115657' first='Gavin' last='Roderick'] will help as well as produce from the four.

(6) Dawson-Boyd. The Jacks have [player_tooltip player_id='1411178' first='Brayson' last='Boike'] who is headed to Southwest Minnesota State next to [player_tooltip player_id='1874834' first='Drew' last='Hjelmeland'] who is a 6'7 skilled player that I think is underrated. It is highly uncommon for a small school in the outstate to have two guys this tall, this agile and this skilled.

(7) STMA. [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen'] is one of the best sophomore bigs in the state at 6'11 and he will be the first player people think of. But don't forget the active 6'6 senior [player_tooltip player_id='2103351' first='Jordan' last='Holm'] who scored 13 points a game last year and 6'7 [player_tooltip player_id='2382252' first='Maverick' last='Maros'], a junior coming up from the JV.

(8) Shakopee. Lucas Wherley played the five a lot last year even though he was recruited as a three man and will head to Jamestown as a forward. He shouldn't have to play the five as much this year with the development of 6'10 [player_tooltip player_id='2405212' first='Tommy' last='Auge'] who has made himself into a prospect.

(8) Lakeville North. The Panthers got some great news when they found out [player_tooltip player_id='1288835' first='James' last='Fager II'] was staying and not moving to Florida (not a big). They will be good and a key part of that is [player_tooltip player_id='1437598' first='Dane' last='Danielson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2422065' first='Drew' last='Kolander'] have both become very good frontcourt players ready for a nice year. They also have 6'6 Luke Lorenson coming up from the JV.

(10) Mankato East. With Minnesota State-Mankato committed [player_tooltip player_id='2103251' first='Ganden' last='Gosch'] at the four (and sometimes five) there to get numbers and Braden Petzel is now a 6'9 junior that should be able to help more this season. East also has a couple 6'4 seniors that played JV last year.
