Over the next few weeks Prep Hoops SC will begin to preview the players and teams that you need to watch for this Winter, including the 2025 Class 2A Elite 8. This preview will go in-depth on the 8 highest-ranked Seniors in Class 2A. This list is composed of uncommitted prospects with various archetypes who all deserve a shot at the next level. The Armada went 20-2 in their first season and will begin this one as the favorites in their class as both the Upper State and Lower State champions were reclassified. Jamie averaged a team-high 14.5 Points Per Game and 11.5 Rebounds Per Game in his Junior Year and should only be more dominant this year. Brooks is very mobile on the floor while being active in transition and having the ability to take defenders off the dribble at this level. He protects the rim well and is strong on the glass too. Coyie is one of the best shooters in the Palmetto State and plays for Chesnee High School in Class 2A Region 1. He had a great Junior Year averaging 13.7 Points Per Game while shooting 49% from three on nearly 150 attempts. Poole's shooting is crucial to the Eagles but he can also keep defenses off balance with his ability to create off the dribble. He plays closeouts well with a good handle, confidence in the mid-range, a crafty floater, and skill in finishing around the rim. Ceasar averaged over 17 Points Per Game and 3 Assists Per Game in 2023-24 while crossing over the 1,000 Point mark for his career. He is very fast with the ball in his hands seeking to push the pace after all missed shots and turnovers. Jeffrey has a knack for beating defenders off the dribble due to his quickness, but he is also crafty with his handle. Ceasar can split double teams, crossover in the open floor, and has polished footwork around the rim. He had a dominant Junior Year for the Buccaneers 16.3 Points Per Game, 12.6 Rebounds Per Game, and 4.7 Blocks Per Game. At 6'6", Wilson is a matchup nightmare for lots of teams in 2A. He has good footwork when attacking the basket off the dribble or working in the post. He is strong and athletic, capable of working through contact to finish at the rim or protect the rim. Wilson works hard on the glass and likes to push the pace after halling in defensive rebounds. Lathon does a little bit of everything for the Swamp Foxes and should step into a bigger role this season after averaging 4.1 Points Per Game and 3.7 Rebounds Per Game in 2023-24. He can finish around the paint, pull up off the dribble, and create for teammates on the offensive end. On the defensive end, his length is a factor in effecting jump shots and forcing turnovers. He has a good feel for jumping passing lanes and he likes to get out and put on a show in the open floor. Salley is an extremely hard worker on both ends of the floor and is extremely versatile. He can guard 1-5 on defense and score from all three levels off the catch or dribble on offense. Salley stands at 6'5" with a 6'10" wingspan and unique athleticism. Ja'Kease averaged 17.8 Points Per Game, 9.7 Rebounds Per Game, and 4.3 Blocks Per Game in 2023-24 for Woodland who will remain in 2A Region 6. Jaylen was second on the Armada in scoring at 13.2 Points Per Game on 44% shooting from the field. He is a slashing guard who is at his best attacking the rim with speed, strength, and athleticism. Bellamy is left-handed but capable of finishing with either hand. When playing off the ball, Jaylen can knock down catch-and-shoot threes or drive and kick to other shooters. The Wildcats will have a new head coach this season but in 2023-24 Harris was second on the team in scoring at 10.6 Points Per Game. He is a factor on both ends of the floor with great instincts in passing lanes and quick hands to force turnovers. Ziyon also crashes the glass hard, is a strong finisher around the rim, and has a confident jump shot.
