The debut of the 2029 rankings rolls on with a look at the wings, one of the most intriguing groups in South Carolina's freshman class. This group already shows a blend of size, athleticism, and versatility that gives them impact on both ends of the floor. As their games continue to develop, these are some of the early names beginning to stand out around the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2853393' first='Babar' last='Johnson'] tops the group as the best-ranked wing in the Prep Hoops South Carolina Class of 2029 Rankings. He played his freshman season at Gray Collegiate Academy, but has already announced his plans to transfer to Westwood High School for the 2026-27 season. Johnson is blessed with elite positional size for his age, plus he is a knockdown shooter. As he continues to learn the game and grow physically, look for him to be one of the best prospects in the state.

Another high-ceiling player from Columbia who is Top 5 in the 2029 Class is White. He was a difference maker from day one with the Yellow Jackets, making his presence felt defensively until he found his place offensively. Khiry has elite length and athleticism, plus a mid-range stroke which should develop into an efficient three-point shot with time and work. I'm excited to see where White is among his peers during the AAU season.

Capping off the Top 10 of the rankings debut is a member of the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada, [player_tooltip player_id='2563974' first='Taye' last='Stanley']. Stanley is one of the more intriguing wings that we have in the Palmetto State. He is definitely on the raw side of the equation, but his length is something to note. Taye was one of the better 14U players last summer and will be a key figure for whatever AAU program he plays with this season.

Choice is a bouncy young wing who has a bright future ahead of him at Sumter High School. He has a really good feel around bodies for his age, both in finishing through contact and making plays for others out of the paint. A lot of Kam's work came inside the paint this season, but he'll get the chance to show some of the other areas of his game with [program_tooltip program_id='3565368' first='Twelve' last='Time'] this spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='2896431' first='Dash' last='Holley'] is arguably the best two-sport athlete in the first edition of the Prep Hoops SC Class of 2029 Rankings. Although he is an excellent football player, he was also a key contributor on varsity for the Northwestern Trojans in his freshman year. Dash plays bigger than his listed size with a big frame and some excellent bounce, so look for him to continue to contribute on the court for the Trojans over the next few seasons.

Herrin is one of the most under-the-radar freshmen in the state. He had a very solid year for the Wolverines, putting up 6.6 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, and 1.5 steals per game in 2025-26. I was impressed with what I saw from Jhailen in December, as he showcased his unique physical traits and a clear lack of fear when playing around much stronger and older players.

Rounding out this group of Wings in South Carolina's 2029 Class is [player_tooltip player_id='2971033' first='Jayce' last='Watson']. Watson checks in just behind Herrin at #39 overall, and he could be the next in the line of long, athletic wings at Berkeley High School. He played JV for the Stags this season, having to wait his turn behind a talented senior class, but he will be a key player in the near future as he develops physically and gets the chance to show off an excellent outside stroke.
