Beginning the 2025 Class 2A Elite 8 is Jamie Brooks Jamie Brooks 6'6" | PF Atlantic Collegiate Academy | 2025 State SC of Atlantic Collegiate Academy in 2A Region 7. The Armada went 20-2 in their first season and will begin this one as the favorites in their class as both the Upper State and Lower State champions were reclassified. Jamie averaged a team-high 14.5 Points Per Game and 11.5 Rebounds Per Game in his Junior Year and should only be more dominant this year. Brooks is very mobile on the floor while being active in transition and having the ability to take defenders off the dribble at this level. He protects the rim well and is strong on the glass too. Jamie holds offers from UNC Pembroke and Emory and Henry.

Brooks had a great season with the Armada last year after making the move over from North Myrtle Beach HS. Jamie had a very strong showing this summer at the SC Live Team Camp in North Augusta. He will look to carry some more of the burden for new Head Coach Tanner Massey this coming season with the departure of Jones Lay to the Hoop State.

Brooks is a bit of a TWEENER on the floor where he can play inside-out and be equally effective with his play. Jamie is a slender-sleek forward who really can alter and challenge shots on the defensive end. He does a great job of running the floor and filling the lane in transition. Brooks has soft hands to catch anything thrown in his direction and has the ability to stop and knockdown the 3-ball when needed at times. Jamie averaged 14.5 ppg and 11.5 rebounds last season for the Armada.

The Armada will play in the Class 2A ranks this season as a member of the SCHSL.

Jamie is one of the top bigs in the entire state and he had a strong showing in Florence Friday. He is a long player who has lots of athleticism and is good around the rim on both ends of the floor. Brooks has the makeup of a rim-running and rim-protecting big man – someone you can throw it up to on lobs and block shots at a high rate. Although he showed some flashes of being able to create off the dribble, that is something he still has room to develop before heading off to the next level after this season. Jamie went for 12 Points, 2 Steals, and 2 Blocks in an impressive win for the Aramada over Andrew Jackson.

Brooks plays the game so well around the bucket and delivering results. He scores well with both hands and really plays very efficient defense around the rim. Jamie has nice timing when it comes to challenging and altering shots on the defensive end of the floor.

Brooks keeps the ball up after claiming it off the glass and shows a nice willingness to fill the lane in transition. He will keep defenders honest and occasionally step-out and face-up from 15-17 feet. Jamie is a certainly a TWEENER at times on the floor but that he sure brings good production to the table each night out.
