We continue our look at the top prospects at the Prep Hoops Illinois Sophomore ID Camp. Let's dive into the best shooting guards and small forwards at the event!

[player_tooltip player_id='2125659' first='Kristopher' last='Mporokoso'] (Waubonsie Valley)

He is supremely skilled with size and strength being able to play inside and out. Scored in one on one situations off the bounce along with setting up his step back three which he likes to go to. Crashes the glass on both ends. Crafty ball handler that has almost a slow mo type take ala Kyle Anderson where he uses his size to shield defenders away from the ball scoring in the paint. Advanced passing feel for a wing making some excellent dishes. Projects as one of the best wings in the 2027 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532316' first='Chaden' last='Harvey'] (De La Salle)

Harvey is a 6'2” shooting guard had a breakout performance at the camp putting him on the radar. He is an explosive guard that can score with the best of them getting downhill. He excelled in transition getting to the rim, finishing around defenders, and getting on the offensive glass. Also showed some passing feel as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2429933' first='Jonathan' last='Costello'] (De La Salle)

Costello signed up the day of the camp and man did he make quite an impression! The 6'4” small forward has good length and explosiveness as a scorer. The lefty lit it up with his slick transition scoring and crisp ball handling creating off the bounce. Capable three point shooter and had a sweet looking three point shot. Lot of projectability to like down the road here.

[player_tooltip player_id='2382372' first='Ace' last='Spinner'] (Central A&M)

Spinner proved at the camp what we saw all summer which is this central Illinois shooting guard can get buckets! He is a three level scorer that brings strength scoring off the dribble and hit jumpers. Active and aware defender that can take it the other way for a score. Awareness on both ends and is a good connector as a passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125677' first='Reggie' last='Stevens'] (St. Laurence)

Stevens is a good shot maker that opened eyes with [program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'] because he can knock in shots from deep. In this camp setting he played free and easy getting to the rack in transition. Threw down a ton of big dunks! Has a chance to be one of the better scoring guards in the class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125658' first='Kendall' last='Meyers'] (Marist)

Big time performance from Meyers at the Sophomore ID Camp. He has shot up height wise to 6'5” with a thick body. More than just a physical presence as he has a ton of skill. That was shown throughout the day. His pull up jump shot was on point from mid-range and he was excellent finishing through contact at the rim. Crafty ball handler that can take it off the defensive glass and push coast to coast. Gets to the foul line, rebounds well, and is an excellent passer for a small forward. Makes sense as he was more of a guard before growth spurt. Expect big things from Meyers this year!

[player_tooltip player_id='2469073' first='Max' last='Beard'] (Woodstock)

Beard is primed for a big season. He is a shot maker first and foremost. His ability to stretch the floor is his biggest asset. Also flashed as a defender on the perimeter including blocking jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532333' first='Jordan' last='Johnson'] (Rich Township)

The 6'1” two guard had an epic shot making display during the 3 on 3 games. He poured them in one after another creating space with his handles on step backs and pull ups. Has athletic pop getting to the rim and has range on his three point shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532342' first='Lamari' last='Carpenter'] (Glenbard North)

Carpenter is a silky smooth two guard that was raining in triples and pull up jumpers from all over the floor throughout an impressive 3 on 3 game performance! His shot making both off the catch and creating on his own is where his biggest value is at this stage.

Blayn Robinson (Central Dewitt, IA)

Robinson is one of those player that always seems to be around the ball ready to make a play. Every time I looked up he was doing something impactful. Tough wing with size at 6'5” that can knock in an open shot, cut off the ball, be a connector, and win off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125642' first='Jarrel' last='Brown'] (Normal Community)

Brown is just oozing with upside! The 6'5” long and athletic small forward from central Illinois has all the tools you look for in a prospect at a young age. He

[player_tooltip player_id='2532319' first='Duke' last='Ross'] (St. Ignatius)

Ross is a wing from St. Ignatius that has been on our radar for over a year now. The 6'5” wing brings plus size and shot making to the table. Ross is a big time shooter from beyond the arc. He also finishes well around the hoop in transition and on dump offs.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532318' first='Dawson' last='Charles'] (St. Viator)

Charles continues to prove he can put that thing in the hoop! The St. Viator shooting guard is a plus three point marksmen that has shown much more consistency as a shot maker as he drained threes and mid-range jumpers throughout the game we caught.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125654' first='Jordan' last='Purvis'] (Yorkville Christian)

Purvis brings plus athleticism to the table and a flair for the game. He plays with a lot of passion and pop! Plus three point shooter that can knock down shots from beyond the arc at a nice clip along with playing in the open floor and converting with acrobatics at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2532349' first='Owen' last='Kirby'] (Normal U-High)

Kirby is a small forward from central Illinois that is going to have a breakout campaign for a Normal U-High squad that lost a lot from last season. He is a 6'4” wing that can really shoot the ball, has size for position, and upside as an athlete. One to watch for sure!
