Against Sycamore, Beard was quiet in the first half but impacted with a solid seal on a BLOB finish and smart back-cut actions. Once the second half started, he came alive, hitting three threes in a row to open the third—one off his own offensive rebound, another after flaring off a down screen, and a third from the top of the arc. In the fourth quarter, he attacked more aggressively, a baseline drive, a spinning layup, and finishing off a back-cut. His scoring in the second half kept Woodstock in the game, energizing his teammates and the defensive end. Finished with four second-half threes and 22 points total.

This was our first look at Beard in a while. The 2027 wing has impressive size at 6’4” and plays with confidence. The majority of his damage was done in transition and off lobs. Also proved to be a solid passer. Someone that we want to monitor this season as the potential is definitely in there.

Initiated offense off D-Boards or outlets to get into flow. Made quick hitters on the sideline to push for primary break options. Made more solid passes to swing it on the perimeter. Good feel offensively. Will catch and face with awareness to see how the defense is set. Had a take to the rim getting fouled and hit a smooth spot up 3 off catch at the top of key. Moved off the ball into open areas in the 1/2 court setting or on EOB’s to keep the defense in motion.
