These players have shown significant improvement over the summer/fall periods and made notable impacts on the court this season. For this list, look at some impressive 2026 stars that could play big-time D1 ball.
Kymani Weathers Kymani Weathers 6'8" | C The Villages | 2026 State FL | F | 2026 | The Villages Charter | @KymaniWeathers
Weathers and crew came up big in various aspects for his program this fall season m. He’s developed into a dominant prospect near the paint that can finish strong at the rim and be a deterrent on the other end of the floor because of his fluid footwork. He has a versatile bag on the offensive end that includes a solid jump shot and the ability to score in transition. Should see an uptick in college interest near the summer period.
Herly Brutus Herly Brutus 6'5" | SF Umatilla | 2026 State FL | G | 2026 | Umatilla | @HerlyBrutus
Talk about a stat sheet stuffer. This kid is having an incredible production year where he’s leading the team in almost every major stat category. The 6-7 sophomore wing product has all the tools to develop into a Real Deal Division I prospect. He currently holds a single D1 offer from Jacksonville University. Brutus is a solid frame forward with developing ball skills on the offensive side and can rim protect well on the defensive end.
Isaiah Newson Isaiah Newson 6'0" | PG North Fort Myers | 2026 FL | G | 2026 | North Fort Myers | @zay_Boe561
The rising 6-0 sophomore guard prospect has gotten off to a hot start in his first season with North Fort Myers as he’s leading the team in points per game. He also has an impressive steal output, averaging nearly 3.0 per game on the defensive end. Newson is a crafty guard who can get by defenders with good ball handles and head fakes where he can finish near the rim or dish it off to open teammates. What separates small guards is the ability to control the rock/offense and provide solid defense. Checks both boxes.
Sinan Huan Sinan Huan 7'0" | C Windermere Prep | 2026 State FL | F | 2026 | Windermere Prep | @WPS_Basketball
Huan is one of the top forward/center prospects in the state because of his sheer size and ability to move around the floor with it. He’s still a developing project but has made great strides since his freshman season. He’s a pure paint beast that dominates near the rim on both sides of the ball. He also competes with team China in the off-season where he’s progressing into a star at the international level.
Kevin Thomas Kevin Thomas 6'7" | SF Sagemo0nt | 2026 State FL | F | 2026 | Sagemont | @_kevinthomas1
Talk about being slept on and under the radar. College coaches, this kid is 6-7 versatile basketball player that has shown development from year one to now. Not sure how these types of kids continue to not be recruited by smaller schools in the backyard. Thomas is an athletic ball player with a developing jump shot and a long frame that coaches can work with. Plenty of time to add weight to his frame but doesn’t play soft now anyway. Going to keep my eyes on his progression to provide updates for readers and coaches.
Amari Cummings Amari Cummings 6'5" | PG Bishop John J Snyder | 2026 State FL | G | 2026 | Bishop Synder | @CummingsAmari
A fast-rising 2026 guard that can handle the rock, shoot a reliable jumper, and provide solid defensive effort with the 6-4 frame. Cummings is picking up traction on the recruiting trail following an early verbal offer from Kent State.
