One of Charlotte’s talented guards, Newson, has played some tremendous basketball so far this season. He is a shifty PG who plays the game with energy and a little bit of swagger. He posted a season high 32-points in a win over Martin County (KY) and also grabbed 8 boards in that contest. Newson is extremely quick and shifty, but plays the game under control, and seems to flirt with triple-double numbers night in and night out.

. Transferring to Charlotte High School, Newson is a major get for the Tarpons and someone who’s certain to aid them on their quest to lift their fifth district title in a row. As a point guard, Newson is an excellent shot creator with speed and a quick twitch that is a nightmare for opposing guards. His excellent touch around the rim and ability to navigate tight spaces in tandem with his strong supporting cast will make Newson a prominent name in the stat sheet, and his team one of the most dangerous in Southwest Florida.

Newson may be one of the most talented guards in the area, and continues to get better year in and year out. The 6’0″ PG has tremendous speed and quickness, and plays the game fast yet under control. He has elite handles and an excellent first step where he can blow by defenders and attack the rim, or dish it out to the open man once the defense collapses. Newson is a 3-level scorer who can score in bunches, and when he gets hot can be very difficult to stop.

Newson picked-up right where he left off after a tremendous sophomore campaign for NFM. He started the 2024-25 season off with 7-straight games scoring in double figures, and already has three 30-point games on the year so far. He is a quick and shifty PG who plays fast but under control. Newson is a smart player and an excellent passer, where he has the ability to create for both himself and his teammates. He’s averaging just under 20 ppg early on this season and look for him to continue to put up big numbers.

This prospect had a tremendous sophomore year and really made a name for himself not just locally, but throughout the entire state. Newson is a quick, shifty guard who plays the game fast but under control. He has excellent handles and an explosive first step where he likes to get to the basket and finish at the rim. He scores on all 3-levels, with a soft-touch on his jumper, and a much improved 3-point game. He’s not just a scorer though, he has a very high basketball IQ to go along with great court vision, making him a true floor general whenever he steps on the court. Newson continues to rise through the Florida ranks, and looks to be known on the national stage by summer’s end.
