“Fuzzy” has clearly gotten bigger and stronger since last season and it’s paid off in a multitude of ways for him. The point guard is capably getting to the rim and finishing above it in transition and the additional strength has allowed him to be a factor on the boards for the undersized Demos. Offensively his lefty shot has been fairly smooth and he continues to be adept at setting up his teammates as well.
Highlights
“Bam” has emerged as a legitimate threat his sophomore season at Central Catholic and has been the team’s third leading scorer after stars Isaac Carr Isaac Carr 6’3″ | CG Central Catholic | 2025 State #75 Nation OR and Marley Zeller Marley Zeller 6’5″ | SF Central Catholic | 2024 State OR . He too has added a lot of strength to his frame and has been very difficult for defenders to handle getting to the basket. He’s shown the ability to play either guard spot, as comfortable with the ball in his hands or coming off of it.
After a little bit of a slow start, Lake has solidly entrenched himself into the Tualatin starting lineup and has become the Timberwolves second-leading scorer after star senior Jaden Steppe Jaden Steppe 6’8″ | SF Tualatin | 2024 State #289 Nation OR . He’s put up some big scoring efforts – including a 40+ plus performance in the Les Schwab Invitational, and his added strength and athleticism have allowed him to sufficiently compete against older players on both ends.
The sophomore combo guard has needed to adjust his game a bit this season as he’s taken on more responsibilities than just spotting up in the corner for threes. Vizconde still does that extremely well but he’s now taking the ball to the hoop more off the dribble and using his increased strength to finish inside or get the ball out to teammates for scores.
The progression of Lawson’s game has continued on to his sophomore season as he’s firmly entrenched himself into the starting point guard spot for the Cougars. The team’s second-leading scorer and thanks to his added strength, the team’s second-leading rebounder, he’s shown toughness on both ends of the floor as he’s helped lead a young Canby team into the post-season.
