Oregon’s leading scorer on the day was Steppe, who got his buckets at all three levels with his team-high 22 points. The future Coloado State Ram was particularly hot from three, hitting four from deep, including a couple pull-ups in transition, and really got out on the break to throw down a trio of thunderous dunks. Great way for the 6A Player of the Year to wrap up his prep career.

Steppe ended up ranking fourth out of the top players but there was certainly not a slight to his game or production, of which has been spectacular so far this season for Tualatin. The Colorado State commit was praised for his physicality and effort on the court and one coach even likened him to one of this year’s rookie sensations in the NBA, Jaime Jaquez Jr.

To be honest, any of the top four guys in the state have a case to be ranked number one and Steppe coming at #4 is the perfect example. The versatile Tualatin talent was one of the most highly recruited guys in the senior class and after taking a number of visits this fall, he recently decided to commit to Colorado State. This spring and summer, Steppe was one of the mainstays inside for the NW Rotary Rebels on the EYBL circuit but his skill set and ability to score from anywhere on the court remains one of the most diverse in the state. He’s another contender for 6A POY honors as he tries to help lead the Timberwolves to a three-peat.
