The Hammond Skyhawks defeated the Falcons 59-55 today to move onto the semifinals on Wednesday. The Skyhawks defeated the Falcons for the 3rd time this season and were led by football prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1340386' first='Mike' last='Tyler'] with 16 points inside the paint area. [player_tooltip player_id='1578619' first='Jaiden' last='Haltiwanger'] added 14 points while guard [player_tooltip player_id='2729803' first='Mekhi' last='Smith-Brown'] chipped in with 13 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1303625' first='Daylin' last='Haltiwanger'] added 9 points while [player_tooltip player_id='1811633' first='Jackson' last='Ross'] scored 7 points.

The Falcons were led by senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2729798' first='Buzz' last='Buxton'] with 14 points. Stephen Nichols added 12 points while [player_tooltip player_id='1364910' first='Braysen' last='Stockman'] added 11 points in the loss.

Cardinals Win in Overtime:

This game was back and forth all game long. The Cardinals now (19-15) would prevail over the Titans (14-12) 59-51 in overtime. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1220039' first='Amarii' last='King'] finished with 16 points for the Cardinals. King a physical guard was able to get the ball into the gaps and touch the paint today. [player_tooltip player_id='1383660' first='Elton' last='Smith'] played his game around the rim all game long and finished with 13 points along with quite a few rebounds. Smith really can take over the game at times on the defensive end of the floor with his quick leaping ability. Elton will alter and challenge shots all night long down in the paint. UNSIGNED Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1340384' first='Evan' last='Carter'] finished with 9 points in the win.

Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2354712' first='Evan' last='Williams'] led the Titans with 19 points while [player_tooltip player_id='2354713' first='Jae' last='Thomas'] added 10 points. Williams a undersized shooting guard was able to dial in from downtown while Thomas showed a really nice mid-range game all night long.

Highlanders Stun Cyclones:

It wasn't pretty but a win is a win that's for sure. This time of the year it's just win and advance. The Heathwood Hall Highlanders did just that defeating Porter Gaud 39-35 to advance to the semifinals on Wednesday. The Highlanders received strong from point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1692417' first='Kamauri' last='Hunter'] with 15 points. Hunter was in control all night long from out top. He was constantly in the middle of every big play tonight with his all-out hustle. [player_tooltip player_id='1690460' first='Henry' last='Morris'] added 11 points in the win from the wing position. The Highlanders move to (9-17) on the season.

UNSIGNED Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1524079' first='Clyde' last='Mauldin'] finished his career with 12 points for the Cyclones. Augusta Christian cruised in the nightcap vs Wilson Hall to move onto the semifinals and will now play Heathwood Hall. The Lions had 10 players score in the game. University of Kentucky baseball signee [player_tooltip player_id='1223258' first='Khaleel' last='Pratt'] finished with 10 points and sat most of the second half. The Lions move to (22-7) on the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1407053' first='Shawn' last='Michael Matthews'] led the Barons (24-8) with 17 points.
