The move: 12 to 8
Richardson makes the jump up into the top 10 after we were able to see more of him both on tape and in person. An athletic wing who provides a lot of versatility on the defensive end with his combination of length, speed, and IQ, he can defend multiple positions at a high level. He brings that versatility to the offensive end as well, showing that he can play with or without the ball in his hands and score from all three levels.
Bode Goodman | PG | Southeast Polk
The move: 17 to 11
A smart guard who can score in bunches, Goodman has continued to improve his athleticism and strength, which allows him to finish at a higher clip around the rim through contact. He’s a good shooter off the catch and the bounce with unlimited range, and his improved athleticism has also made an impact on his play on the defensive end.

The move: 16 to 12
Barrantes has really started to change his body, adding some needed strength to his upper body, which will only be beneficial for him as sometimes he struggled to finish around the rim through contact last season. That area of his game looked much improved when we saw him play at Winterset in June. With his mobility and length, he can do a lot for the Thunder defensively, and he’s great on the glass on both ends of the floor.

The move: 26 to 13
Shadrick, by his own admission, had an up-and-down year last season and dropped from his lofty initial ranking as a result. He has transferred from Davenport West to Bettendorf, and he’s coming off a really, really good spring and summer with the QC Shockers, and a great fall showcase season. He’s a power wing who sees the floor extremely well and is a gifted passer who loves to play a facilitating role and get his teammates involved. He uses his strength to his advantage when he’s looking to score as well, bullying his way to the rim and finishing through contact. He’s a solid team defender who rotates well and is in constant communication on that end of the floor. He’s also a great teammate who is always encouraging and communicating, even when he’s on the bench.

The move: 24 to 17
Severson has become one of my favorite players in this class to watch. He’s a high IQ wing who can fill it up from all three levels, but he doesn’t force anything. He has a great feel and understanding for when he needs to take over a game as a scorer, and when he can kind of sit back and play more of a facilitating and defender role. He has good size at 6-4, and his length allows him to defend multiple positions and contest shots at a high level.

The move: 31 to 19
Matson had a good summer and fall showcase season, showcasing impressive court vision and athleticism routinely. He’s able to put constant pressure on opposing defenses with his combination of speed, ball-handling, and vision. He’s part of an excellent 2025 class at Linn-Mar that should see a lot of success over the next two years.

| SG | Cascade
The move: 38 to 30
Lieurance is a big-time scoring threat from the perimeter who posted 49-41-82 shooting splits and averaged 18.1 points a game as a sophomore for the Cougars. He primarily played off the ball last season and spent the spring and summer working to improve his ball-handling so that he can create looks for himself and his teammates more this season. That improvement led to his jump up the rankings.
Dylan Marquart

| SG | Dunkerton
The move: 48 to 37
Marquart largely played off the ball as a sophomore, filling a role as a sharpshooting option alongside a pair of big-time scorers who excelled with the ball in their hands. Over the summer he was outstanding at creating his own shots, shooting it off the dribble at a high clip, and facilitating and creating for his teammates. With a much larger role headed his way as a junior, Marquart thrived throughout the summer and should be primed to step up and be a big-time contributor and leader for the Raiders as a junior.

The move: 53 to 43
Stensrud was outstanding at our Top 250 Expo in September, which certainly contributed to this 10-spot jump up the rankings. A mobile 6-6 big man with great hands, he plays with both finesse and physicality, controlling the glass on both ends of the floor. He finishes really well around the rim with either hand, can protect the paint as a defender, and is a good enough athlete to occasionally switch on that end of the floor and hold his own. He averaged 12.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.9 blocks a game on 63% shooting as a sophomore.

The move: 60 to 50
Kasongo didn’t play much for the Black Raiders as a sophomore, but the 6-7 forward with some bounce was good this summer and should step into a bigger role this season for East. He can protect the rim on the defensive end and is a good finisher around the bucket.
