Team One:
Simon King Simon King 6'5" | SF Lexington Christian Academy | 2026 State KY , LCA – King was consistent in literally every facet of the game in multiple viewings on Saturday. He pushes the pace off of rebounds and rebounded relentlessly on both ends of the court.
Team Two:
Cohen Todd Cohen Todd 6'5" | SF Eastern | 2026 State KY , Ballard – I’d never heard of Todd before Saturday but he impressed me over the course of the day. Long at 6’5, Cohen looks like he’s got room to grow and get better. He already impacted the game on both ends and looks like a potential sleeper for a talented Ballard group.
Team Three:
MJ Wardlow, Bowling Green – One of the few 2024s at the event, MJ is super reliable. You know what you’re going to get from him. He plays super hard, makes the smart play and isn’t afraid to take over a leadership role, even on a team of strangers like he was on Saturday.
Team Four:
Prince Kahnplaye Prince Kahnplaye 6'0" | PG DeSales | 2025 State KY , DeSales – Prince may have been the quickest player at camp with the ball in his hands. Constantly pushing the pace on offense, Kahnplaye was impressive attacking the rim. Once he learns to change speeds, he’ll be a very tough player for a loaded DeSales team.
Team Five:
Jeremiah Stiefel Jeremiah Stiefel 6'3" | PG Bluegrass United Homeschool | 2026 State KY , Bluegrass Home School – In interest of full disclosure, I never saw Team 5 play on Saturday but our other scouts in the building did. Based on their feedback, Jeremiah gets the nod as top performer for his squad.
Team Six:
Hayden Blakeman Hayden Blakeman 6'5" | SF Green County | 2025 State KY , Green County – Team 6 may have been the best team at the camp and Luke Beickman Luke Beickman 6'2" | CG Owensboro Catholic | 2025 State KY and Brevon Ricker Brevon Ricker 6'0" | PG Menifee County | 2025 State KY could both make claims for top player but Blakeman had almost 40 points in his first game (including 7 threes) and the best highlight of the day when he posterized a defender on a drive and two handed dunk.
Team Seven:
Jarett Simpson Jarett Simpson 6'6" | PF Southwestern | 2026 State KY , Pulaski Southwestern – Team 7 had several players who could make a claim for top player on the team but I’ll go with Simpson based on the versatility that I saw from him. Able to score inside and out, Simpson also played hard all game when others on his squad ran out of gas.
Team Eight:
Zach Hutchinson Zach Hutchinson 6'5" | SF Pulaski Southwestern | 2026 State KY , Pulaski Southwestern – This was a close call between Zach, Jakobi McRoberts and Jack Rose on which player was the most impressive but Hutchinson gets the nod thanks to his strong frame, length and athleticism. He also hit some shots from deep to show a well rounded game.
Team Nine:
C.J. Johnson C.J. Johnson 6'1" | PG Taylor County | 2024 State KY , Taylor County – The newest Cardinal, Johnson just recently arrived in Campbellsville from Georgia. He had a strong day at camp and one coach (who currently plays in the NBA G League) said “he is TOUGH”. A big time scorer, CJ will make Taylor County even more dangerous in the loaded 5th region.
Team Ten:
Jerrod Roark Jerrod Roark 6'1" | PG Clay County | 2025 State KY , Clay County – Team ten was one that was fairly balanced and Hayden Shouse Hayden Shouse 6'6" | SF Meade County | 2026 State KY could have gotten the nod here for top performer but it goes to Roark. Jerrod excelled in transition and showed good athleticism for a smaller point guard.
