I was impressed with the senior duo of both Hutchinson and Jarrett Simpson, a big who made numerous impressive passes. I eventually decided to spotlight Hutchinson due to his versatility and ability to impact the game in a few different ways. Hutchinson was used as a play finisher, spot-up shooter, offensive rebounder and playmaker on Friday. Pretty hard to find small college wings that check as many boxes as Hutchinson does.

Hutchinson has been a very solid player in the 12th region for the past few seasons. As a Junior, he led Southwestern in scoring at 16 points per game and made shots at a solid clip as he shot 35% from three and 44% overall. A wing with good size, Zach needs to continue to improve his defense and become a more active rebounder to reach his long term potential.

is an athlete wing who is a good jump shooter and has the physical tools to earn scholarships this summer. Zach has good size at 6’5 and is athletic enough to play above the rim when needed. He’s a solid shooter at 35% from three but needs to be more effective on the defensive end and on the boards to reach his ceiling.

Hutchinson is a talented player who can be a difference maker when he gets his motor running. Zach is a big wing who can shoot it or get to the rim. He needs to sit down and guard his position at times but a camp is not the place to look for much defense. He’s definitely a scholarship level prospect.

An athletic wing prospect with a lot of upside, Hutchinson goes from 33rd to 21st in this update. Averaging 13 and 7 per game, Zach’s long term upside will depend on his ability to knock down threes at a high clip. More of a driver at this point, his college stock will only go up if Hutchinson becomes a better three point shooter.
