Kahnplaye had maybe the biggest stock rising weekend of any player in Kentucky. Going off on both Saturday and Sunday at this event, Kahnplaye is looking like a more confident player than the one I saw as a Junior. He’s making tough shots all over the court and has soft touch where even on shots that hit the rim, they still have a decent chance of falling in the back of the net. I was also impressed with the progression Kahnplaye has made as a ball handler, using quick moves to create space to pull-up from the perimeter. As a team, Jeffersontown plays a tough and physical style of basketball that can overwhelm teams without a variety of ball handlers and decision makers. Their tenacity makes them tough to beat with how often they can turn you over.

Jeffersontown has a new look squad with a handful of transfers and Kahnplaye stood out on Saturday with a strong shooting effort. Jeffersontown ran Kahnplaye off a bunch of screens and he responded with a couple of jumpers off movement that were smooth. When he got downhill, he liked the floater when attacking with his left hand as well. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly the new pieces can mesh during the regular season for Jeffersontown, they have the talent to be one of the best in Louisville this winter.

Prince had to be one of the quickest prospects at camp on Saturday and made a living at the rim where he converted over and over. Kahnplaye didn’t shoot many threes in game action but he didn’t need to because he was so good at getting to the rim.

Speaking of third and fourth options, there aren’t many better in Louisville than Prince. After being one of the leading scorers in Kentucky last year, Kahnplaye moved back to Louisville and has been settling into his role for a veteran Colts roster that he had to fit into. When it comes to “microwave” scoring ability, Prince can heat up in a hurry. A big postseason could mean a chance for Kahnplaye to start establishing himself as a top player for DeSales next season.

A prospect who was sensational at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo and this was my first time to watch him in an organized game. While he wasn’t making shots from the outside early, Kahnplaye was aggressive and got to the free throw line where he converted. His best move came at the end of the first half when he took it coast to coast and hit a buzzer beating floater at the halftime horn. Finally in the fourth quarter and overtime, Kahnplaye hit some big 3-pointers to give his team a big boost. His resilience to keep shooting after a cold night and make big plays late show what type of player Kahnplaye is.

Kahnplaye was one of the leading scorers and rebounders in Kentucky last year and returns to Louisville after some time away. Expect Prince to come to DeSales and offer a good secondary ball handler next to Damone King Damone King 6'0" | PG DeSales | 2024 State KY . Prince is a better driver than a shooter but he should open up shots for teammates with his ability to attack the rim and kick to shooters.

Prince has been a standout on the camp circuit in recent weeks and his latest performance was no different. Likely the best slasher at camp, Kahnplaye was living in the paint on offense. Capable of finishing or making good reads off the drive, Prince continues to get better and playing with more talent around him this year will likely make him better and force less offense.

The most impressive performance of the day was Kahnplaye in the first game of the day. The lefty guard was making shots from absolutely everywhere on the court and letting everybody know that nobody could guard him. Able to shoot off the catch after kick outs and pull-up jumpers in the pick and roll. Defensively, Kahnplaye was jumping passing lanes and getting out in transition. At the rim, Kahnplaye showed patience and body control and had a crazy reverse layup on the right side with his left hand.

Recently transferring to DeSales from Paducah, Kahnplaye was one of the top scorers in the state last season and was also a top 15 rebounder in Kentucky. If Prince can score the ball at a high level and get others involved, he’ll be in the mix for camp MOP.
