One of the best on-ball defenders in the class, Faulkner has the physical tools to pick up a ball handler for 94 feet. He also shot just shy of 60% from the field and 40% from three in his Senior season. Jeffersontown fell short of getting back to Rupp Arena but Bryonn came back from a foot injury to finish his Senior season strong.
In a game that most expected JTown to gain an early lead, DeSales hung tight for the first three quarters of play in the 6th Region semifinals. It was a defensive masterclass led by Faulkner, however, that propelled the Chargers to a double-digit win and a chance at the regional title. He owned the assignment versus one of the best shooters in the state and helped himself to 3 STLS in the 2nd half alone. He kept the same energy in the championship game versus Butler, showcasing a defensive intensity and willingness to get on the floor that was second to very few.
I liked how Faulkner just seemed to find points at the rim on Thursday in a tight win over Indiana Game. Whether it was in transition, off cuts, BLOB plays or the ball just finding him, Faulkner was getting easy looks in the paint and converting them. Nice to see a player get rewarded with buckets by simply moving without the ball and being active, scoring doesn’t have to be complicated for guards. Expect Faulkner to be a name regional scholarship programs familiarize themselves with over the next few months.
A super athletic lefty guard who excels at getting downhill on offense but may make the most impact on the defensive end. Capable of guarding for the full 94 feet and causing chaos on the defensive end of the floor, Bryonn needs to work on improving his perimeter shooting to open up the rest of his offensive game. Long term, Faulkner is the type of player who could thrive with a stint at Junior College.
Faulkner is one of the best all around athletes in the 2026 class and showed it on Saturday. Bryonn is very fast and was impressive in the open floor all day on Saturday. He’s still heavy on his left hand and needs to get more confident finishing with his right but Faulkner had a good day Saturday.
Faulkner had a quiet freshman season for Western but a strong AAU season helps him rise from 27th to 16th in this update. Bryonn may have the quickest first step of any guard in the class and is capable of getting to the rim with the best of them. He needs to keep improving his skill level and jump shot but Faulkner is a talented athlete with a bright future.
A talented lefty who can play on or off the ball, Faulkner has a ton of upside thanks to his length and athleticism. Bryonn can get downhill and finish at the rim and is solid in the midrange with pull ups and floaters. Look for him to continue earning more and more varsity playing time as the season rolls along and possibly be a starter for the Warriors next season as a Sophomore.
One of the names to file away for the future, Faulkner could be the next great Western guard. He is going to have to wait his turn to get a bigger role but Bryonn has all the tools to be a difference maker for the Warriors. With good size and length and quickness, the 6’1 guard would be playing a lot of varsity at about any other team in the city. He needs to continue improving shooting and decision making long term but look for Faulkner to be a breakout candidate sooner or later.
