Prep Hoops Florida is taking a deeper dive at the way too early Top 25 teams in the state of Florida, regardless of classification. Next up, We will be headlining the next five teams on our list who are ranked 21 through 25. A lot of new faces are in new places as well this upcoming season.
#21 Sports Leadership & Management (Tampa)
The SLAM Tampa Spartans are coming off a 2022-2023 season where they reached the Final Four for the first time in school history. The Spartans return their top leading scorer in 6-5 senior guard Ramone Seals Ramone Seals 6'4" | CG SLAM Tampa | 2024 State FL who averaged 18.8 points per game as a junior last season. Other names to keep an eye on for the Spartans will be 6-5 sophomore guard Willie Piggott and 6-0 junior guard Derrick Doe who are expected to play big roles this upcoming season. The Spartans also landed a key transfer in 6-2 senior combo guard Adrian Moore Adrian Moore 6'1" | CG SLMA! Tampa | 2024 State FL who played at Largo last season.
#22 Windermere Prep
The Windermere Prep Lakers are coming off a 2022-2023 season, where they reached the Class 3A Championship Game before falling short to Riviera Prep. The Lakers are destined to be among the favorites to get back to Lakeland for the Final Four as they return a dynamic backcourt featuring 6-2 junior guard Samuel Shoptaw Samuel Shoptaw 6'2" | PG Windermere Prep | 2025 State FL and 6-3 sophomore shooting guard Brandon Bass Jr Brandon Bass Jr 6'5" | SG Windermere Prep | 2026 State FL . Another name to keep an eye on this upcoming season will be 7-0 sophomore center Sinan Huan Sinan Huan 7'0" | C Windermere Prep | 2026 State FL who has gained offers from Alabama, Florida, Mississippi State and others during the off-season.
#23 Edgewater
The Edgewater Eagles are coming off a 2022-2023 season, where they finished with a 17-11 record and reached the Regional Semifinals. The Eagles will look to turn into 6-3 junior guard Darius Washington Darius Washington 6'1" | CG Discovery | 2025 State #373 Nation FL and 6-7 junior forward Myles Mayfield Myles Mayfield 6'7" | SF Edgewater | 2025 State #208 Nation FL to help lead the offense this season. The key addition for the Eagles this off-season was 6-2 senior combo guard Zion Mitchell Zion Mitchell 6'1" | CG Edgewater | 2024 State FL who transferred from Master’s Academy over the summer.
#24 Victory Christian Academy
The Victory Christian Academy Storm are coming off their best season in school history reaching the Class 2A Regional Semifinals and finishing with a 24-6 record. The Storm will return their trio guard play featuring 6-3 senior guard Lorenzo Cason Lorenzo Cason 6'2" | PG Victory Christian | 2024 State #75 Nation FL (Florida Atlantic commit), 6-3 senior guard Jordan Lanier Jordan Lanier 6'4" | PG Victory Christian | 2024 State FL and 6-0 senior guard Mike Andino Mike Andino 6'0" | PG Victory Christian Academy | 2024 State FL . Also keep an eye on 5-7 freshman guard Miles Morrell Miles Morrell 5'6" | PG Victory Christian Academy | 2027 FL who plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor, where he can use his quickness and versatility at a high level. 5-10 sophomore guard Tucker Fox Tucker Fox 6'0" | SG Victory Christian Academy | 2026 FL can absolutely light it up from beyond the arc as well so don’t be surprised if Victory Christian Academy can score a lot of points this upcoming season.
#25 Gateway Charter
The Gateway Charter Griffins have the potential to make a lot of noise in Class 3A this season, after reaching the Regional Semifinals for the first time in school history. The Griffins return a loaded core in 6-1 junior guard Trey Fogle Trey Fogle 6'1" | CG Gateway Charter | 2025 FL , 5-10 senior guard Gabriel Timmons and 6-7 junior forward Patrick Johnson Patrick Johnson 6'7" | PF Gateway Charter | 2025 State FL . The Griffins also landed a transfer in 5-10 senior guard Noah Cutler, who played at Charlotte High School last season. Also keep an eye on 6-0 freshman guard Cooper LaSalle Cooper LaSalle 6'0" | CG Gateway Charter | 2027 FL as he is one of the most efficient perimeter shooters in the upcoming freshman class.
