Victory jumped on the Polk radar last season while taking down some of the tough high schools in the area. The Storm are led by D1 FAU commit Lorenzo Cason who is stamped as the Real Deal. VCA is primed to make a run for the 2A title and finally get over the OCP hump. This team is certainly battle-tested with star Cason finding his scoring groove at the right time. He’s one of the true phenom prospects to come out of the Polk area in some years.

Cason is a strong defender as well where he rebounds effectively well for his size and can push the pace. Look for Cason to have a bright future as he has a winner’s mindset and can carry Victory Christian Academy to make a deep playoff run.

The FAU commit is known in the city for his ability to simply take over a game for VCA as he’s done for the past two seasons. Last night was a big-time early season matchup for Cason and his squad who made it to the 2A state championship game a season ago. Cason can do it all on the hardwood hints to his major in-state recruitment. A great young man on and off the court with a bright future. He impacted the game in all phases last night but mainly by drawing in the defense where he could kick it out to teammates. Early test for Cason who will only remember this matchup for motivation as the year progresses.

The 6-3 senior and Florida Atlantic signee was an absolute menace on the court as he impacted the game in a variety of ways. Cason finished with a near triple-double with 28 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists in the thrilling 92-88 overtime win over Windermere. Cason did a great job when it came to creating his own shot off the bounce as well as thriving for his teammates to get better.

A 6-3 senior guard and Florida Atlantic commit is a versatile scorer where he is also very creative with his handle and touch. Cason is able to create space and finish on the attack as well as making good decisions on passing the ball finding open teammates. On the defensive side, Cason plays with quick hands and can get steals which lead to transition baskets on the other end.

The FAU commit is one of the more complete players in the state.  Cason is a 3-level scorer, where he likes to play down-hill and get to basket but also knocks down the mid-range jumper consistently.  He has unlimited range from the outside and is very efficient from behind-the-arc.  He has elite handles and quickness, which to go along with his strong frame, make him real nightmare for opposing defenses.  The 6’3″ senior isn’t just a scorer though, he’s an above-average rebounder and great at moving the ball around on offense to find an open look.  Cason looks to build on a very successful junior season where he averaged 27.6 ppg, 8 rpg, and 5 apg, in hopes of leading his team deep into the postseason.

Lorenzo Cason, A 6-3 senior point guard and Florida Atlantic commit is a tough guard and can score on all three levels. He controls the game exceptionally well from the point guard position by making smart decisions when he has the basketball in his hands. He is very aggressive on the offensive end where he can finish while absorbing contact at the front of the rim. On the defensive end, Cason can guard multiple positions and recover exceptionally well with his improved footwork. Look for Cason to have a big senior season on both ends of the floor for Victory Christian.

The 6-3 senior guard and Florida Atlantic University commit is an incredible and versatile scorer who can impact the game in a variety of ways. His ability to create space and finish in traffic have continued to improve each year since the beginning of his freshman season. On the defensive end, Cason is a pest and is very active in the passing lanes where he uses his length to create a lot of activity. His versatility and length allow him to guard on the interior where he can contest shots and rebound well for his size.
