These student-athletes have lit it up in the scoring column this season and deserve the proper recognition. This list of high-scoring prospects is just a few of the many talented young athletes who are making waves on the court.
Victory jumped on the Polk radar last season while taking down some of the tough high schools in the area. The Storm are led by D1 FAU commit Lorenzo Cason who is stamped as the Real Deal. VCA is primed to make a run for the 2A title and finally get over the OCP hump. This team is certainly battle-tested with star Cason finding his scoring groove at the right time. He’s one of the true phenom prospects to come out of the Polk area in some years.

The Rockledge Raiders are off to a 16-7 run on the season while being led by senior University of Tampa commit Ryan Blount. The 6-6 combo guard has everything you want in a high upside college prospect. Blount has flashed a solid outside and midrange jumper throughout his career while also being able to score around the rim. He’s just an overall ball player. He also crashes the boards well and can score in transition. Blount has to get some love from in-state Florida schools looking to add an underrated piece.

2023 stats: 23.7 PPG – 6.5 assists – 4.4 steals
One of the premier guards in the North Florida area has been on a tear this season. This kid can light it up from the field but is a magician with the rock in his hands while creating for his teammates. College coaches have to get eyes on the floor general. He’s stepped up his efforts this season, helping lead Ribault to a 17-6 record so far.
2023 stats: 21.5 PPG – 9.5 rebounds- 5.0 assists
Winter Haven’s 2024 Isaac Celiscar Isaac Celiscar 6’6″ | SG Winter Haven | 2024 State #263 Nation FL has been a pivotal contributor to his team and community throughout the journey. Despite losing a few production players, the recent Yale University commit said he is determined and fueled to give back to his city the hardware of a state championship before heading off to the next level. He’s help lead Winter Haven to a 21-1 record with 20 consecutive wins. When breaking down Celiscar’s game and film, you quickly realize this kid is a rebounding magnet and a potential double-double machine because of his 6-6 frame combined with long arms and an athletic build. It’s his versatility on the basketball court that makes him an intriguing prospect.
2023 stats: 26.2 PPG – 8.4 rebounds – 3.4 assists
Not heard to miss this kid walking into the gym because of his known scoring output and 24/7 locked in focused demeanor. He’s averaging nearly 30.0 PPG this season and I can see why. He has the obvious long frame for a guard at this level but his understanding of how to get to the foul line was next level. He was for sure in my Top 3 scoring threats of the Holiday Hoops weekend, and I left impressed with his ceiling for the next level.
2023 stats: 25.3 PPG – 8.7 rebounds – 4.2 assists – 1.8 steals
The senior and leader of his team has put on a show for his last go at the high school prep level. What an overall season this kid has put together in nearly all categories as he’s leading in four major ones (points, rebounds, assists, steals). Taylor is a versatile product that can for sure make an impact at the next level. Taylor at 6-6 is a lengthy product with a good IQ and motor to affect the game in the stat column but also where it doesn’t count (leadership, & effort). He’s willing to crash the boards and provide solid defensive effort as well. Offers should start rolling in for this kid.
2023 stats: 31.4 PPG – 5.4 rebounds – 4.6 assists – 4.9 steals
The senior scoring guard has picked up a few recent offers because of his consistent scoring output. He’s heard from Jacksonville College, Indiana University-Columbus, Bay Area Sports Academy, and Chattahoochee Valley Community College most recently. We keep telling you, no matter the size of the dog, but it’s the heart and fight that separates these young men. He’s a bucket getter, as he dropped over 25.0 PPG in the last two seasons.
2023 stats: 24.8 PPG – 8.9 rebounds – 4.4 steals – 3.1 assists
Cook has helped lead the Eagles to a 16-3 record on the way to potential consecutive District Titles. Standing at 6’3, the rising senior guard isn’t afraid to flash his athleticism as he’s a fierce finisher at the rim, is a beast on the boards, and forces steals on the defensive end. He’s really turned it up a notch in the scoring column this season, showing his ability to develop. Look out for Cook to have another productive post season and begin to generate interest around his recruitment.
