Matt LaSalle | Prep Hoops Scout
Gateway Charter’s unsung hero is a coaches dream and will do whatever it takes to help his team win. The 6’2″ CG is a team first guy who produces night in and night out. Fogle is a strong kid who can help on defense in the paint, but is also athletic enough to lock up the guards and wings. He rebounds the ball very well on both ends of court, and is quick off the floor for second chance points. He has a tremendous basketball IQ and just plays the game right. He handles the ball very well and also has great court vision. The Griffin’s swiss-army-knife has a beautiful jump shot and can hurt you with his mid-range game, but can also become lethal from behind the arc where he shoots the 3-ball at a very high rate. Fogle is an unselfish prospect who effects the game in one way or another every time he steps on the floor.

Fogle is a jack-of-all trades, who seems to affect the game in multiple ways every time he steps on the court. He is a strong bodied guard who loves the game and takes pride in his defense. Fogle won’t back down from any assignment and is an above-average rebounder on both ends of the court. He has a very high basketball IQ and does whatever it takes to get the win. He has great handles and will beat you off the dribble and finish at the rim with contact, or really hurt you from outside, where he is a lethal 3-point shooter. Fogle is a prospect that will make a college program very happy one day.

Fogle continued to do what he’s been doing all season long, and just fill the stat sheet. The 6’2″ junior guard, does a little bit of everything for his Griffins squad. Whether he’s knocking down 3’s, grabbing rebounds, locking up the opposing teams best player, or just being a vocal leader, Fogle is a major part of Gateway Charter and its continued success. In a semi-final matchup with CSN he recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. He then followed that up with an amazing performance against Bishop Verot in the Championship, totaling 23 points (16 in the second half) and 4 rebounds, leading his Griffins to back-to-back District Titles.

The junior CG has done a little bit of everything for his Gateway Charter squad this season. He has helped lead the Griffins to a 15-5 record so far this year, and has done it not only with his play but also with his actions and leadership as a player. Game in and game out you can see him getting hyped for his teammates, but also reeling them in when needed. He acts as another coach on the floor, where he is always communicating with his teammates and keeping their heads in the game. Fogle is a tough defender who won’t back down from any matchup and is a great rebounder for his size. Offensively he can score from all 3-levels, and if he gets hot look out because he can score in bunches. Fogle is prospect to keep an eye on as he and his teammates look to make a run in the postseason.

2023-2024 Stats: N/ArnThe 6-1 guard has a ton of upside heading into his junior season, as he continues to display his confidence and shooting ability. He also has one of the best IQs I’ve seen for his class as he forces defenses to collapse with his drive and kick-outs to find open shooters. Look for his stock to continue to rise as he is one of the top shooters so far this season in the SWFL area. He has a strong frame on the defensive end and is an above-average rebounder who can quickly push the ball in transition.

This kid is a swiss army knife, he does a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor. He is a strong guard with a solid frame, who wont back down from any defensive assignment and is a real asset on the boards. He is a 2-way player who just plays the game right, giving his all every time he steps on the court. Fogle has solid handles and can score inside or out. He can take you to the hole or hit a contested jumper, and also knocks down the triple with unlimited range. Look for his stock to continue to rise this season, as he seems to be the glue guy for Gateway Charter.

Sleeper Prospect: Trey Fogle 6-1 PG (2025). Fogle has one of the quickest releases of a jump shot I’ve seen. He brings a high IQ and moves exceptionally well without the basketball in his hands. Fogle is a true definition of a three-level scorer who can impact the game in a variety of ways. On the defensive end, Fogle can guard on-the-ball as well as be very active in the passing lanes where he can turn defense into offense in a hurry.

The 6-1 guard is a leader on the court and can make plays happen whether the basketball is in his hands or if it’s with his quick ball movement. Fogle has had a solid spring for Florida Phenoms 2025 and has huge upside going into his junior season.

After a dominant showing on Saturday, Fogle continued showing off his offensive ability through the rest of the weekend. Fogle has the rare combination of elite shot-making and handles that make him nearly impossible to show, including a filthy step back jumper that made me jump out of my seat.
