Johnson has been a double-double machine throughout his career and he continued that through postseason play with an 18 point, 16 rebound performance in a win over Oasis, and a 15 point, 16 rebound outing in a victory over Glades Central. The 6’8″ senior has tremendous athleticism and is very quick off floor where he likes to get the crowd involved with his rim-rattling dunks. Johnson is just fun to watch both offensively and defensively, and has established himself as one of the top players in not just SWFL but the entire state.

Johnson is an intimidating presence in the middle for this Gateway Charter squad. His size and athleticism allow him to alter just about any shot which comes into the paint, and he’s just a tremendous shot blocker overall. The 6’8″ senior has great strength and is very quick off the floor, where he’s an excellent rebounder on both ends of the court. Johnson is a double-double machine and his build and skillset make it very difficult for opposing teams to score inside against the Griffins.

Johnson may be one of the most intimidating and exciting players to watch in the entire state. He is a freak athletically, and a double-double machine. He gets the crowd on their feet with his rim-rocking dunks night in and night out, and is a huge presence in the middle with his ability to block shots. Last season the 6’8″ PF developed a bit of an outside game, where he was able to space out the defense a little more, and if he continues to develop that outside shot the sky’s the limit. Johnson has started to see some offers roll in, and look for that to continue as he looks to have a monster senior year for the Griffins.

Johnson is just a freak athletically and one of the top rebounders in the entire state. His strong play over the summer has earned him offers from both Keiser University and Warner University. He is an absolute beast on the glass, where he is very quick of the floor and has a knack for being in the right position. The 6’8″ PF is a strong bodied kid with tremendous leaping ability, where he loves to play above the rim and get the crowd into with some highlight reel dunks. Johnson has also really worked on his outside shot, where he is becoming more and more effective each time he steps on the court. Look for the offers to keep rolling in for Gateway Charter’s big as he looks to help lead his team deep into postseason play in 2025.

Gateway Charter’s big man in the middle had him a season for the ages.  The 6’8″ junior averaged 17 ppg and 11.2 rpg, to go along with an amazing 22 double-doubles on the year.  He is a tremendous rebounder on both ends of the floor and is extremely athletic, bringing the house down with some highlight reel dunks.  He helped lead his Griffins to a 22-8 record, back-to-back District Champs, and a trip to the Regional Final.  He recorded 26 pts and 15 rebounds in an opening round win, followed by a 10 pt, 15 rebound effort in a victory over Tampa Catholic where he battle some back issues.  Still dealing with the back, Johnson, left it all on the floor in the Regional Final loss to Berkeley Prep, where they came up just short losing by 3.  Keep an eye on this kid next year as he hopes to build on a tremendous junior campaign and lead his squad to Lakeland.

Johnson has been an absolute force for the Griffins all season long.  The 6’8″ junior is a double-double machine, where he’s recorded 16 double-doubles in 23 games.  He is the areas top rebounder and an absolute force in the middle for Gateway Charter.  The athletic, strong-bodied forward is a presence in the paint, where he’s an elite shot-blocker and very efficient at altering the opposing teams attempts.  Offensively, he likes to play above the rim and capitalize on second-chance opportunities, but has even started to develop more of an outside game.  Johnson is averaging 16.9 ppg and 11.1 rpg, and has helped lead the Griffins to an 18-7 record, and the #1 seed in their district, where they hope to being back the district title for the second-straight year.

The 6-8 junior power forward has a huge amount of athleticism where he can punish you at the rim or in the mid-range game. Johnson is quick for his size when he gets to his spots and has a smooth touch and a strong understanding of the game. Offensively, he has also improved his perimeter game where he isn’t afraid to shoot two or three 3-point attempts a game. Defensively, he has become more versatile where he guards multiple positions and also handles the ball exceptionally well for his size. Keep tabs on Johnson as he is emerging as a prospect right before our eyes.

The 6’8″ junior has showed signs of dominance early in the 2023-24 season.  He has been an absolute monster on the glass on both ends of the court, and his strength and quickness off the floor make him an intimidating presence in the middle for opposing offenses.  He scores majority of his points down low, but has developed a decent outside shot, where he has connected on a number of 3’s this year.  Johnson opened the season with an eye-opening performance against Wharton putting up 28 points and 15 rebounds, and is averaging 20 ppg and 13.4 rpg so far this season.  Continue to monitor this prospect as he keeps developing his game in becoming a more all-around player.

Johnson does a great job at slowing down fastbreaks with his ability to guard across all three scoring levels. He is also a menace around the glass whether it’s blocking shots or finishing put-backs on the offensive end. On the defensive end, he is an elite shot blocker and rebounder when it comes to battling on the glass. During the off-season, Johnson gained more confidence when it comes to shooting from the perimeter.

The 6-8 junior power forward is dangerous around the rim on the offensive end where he can catch lobs as well as finish put-backs off misses. His mid-range shot has continued to improve as he is starting to expand his versatility into becoming a multi-level scorer. On the defensive end, he does a good job at challenging shots around the rim using his length and size to an advantage. Johnson also does a great job at rebounding and cleaning up the glass limiting the opposition into taking second chances. He averaged a double-double last season as a sophomore for Gateway Charter.
