Jefferson is one of the top two way players in the state regardless of clas. The PG is a terrific defender with good lateral quickness, which allows him to be an on ball terror. His offensive skill has increased, and he’s become a better playmaker to go along with the intangible of his leadership abiltiy.
Highlights
Sheets is one of the most skilled players as well as one of the most fundamentally sound. The PG passes, handles and shoots at a high level. For his high school team, he has one of the highest usages rates of any player in the state, being intrusted to do a little bit of everything. He’s one of the highest rated players from up North.
You can make an argument that Jackson is the most skilled player in the state. He’s one of the fastest with the ball in his hands, has become a sniper from the three point line, and is arguably the best on ball defender. The PG is also on the short list of players with the opportunity to be the state scoring leader. He comes in as a top 20 player in the class.
I may be guilty of underating Davis a bit. When you look at his career body of work it lines up with anyone in his class. He has been an intregal starter for Desert Pines since day one at the school, he’s got a signature skill, being one of the best shooters in the state, and he’s a productive member of a good LV Olympian squad.
There are so many storybook ways this year could end for Dacuma that there are too many to name. The PG has raised his level of play and looks up to the challenge. In addition to being charged with getting fellow class of 2025 star Xavion Staton Xavion Staton 7’0″ | C Sierra Vista | 2025 State #121 Nation NV the ball, he will also have to score and create for others. The top 30 PG could be one of the biggest litmus test of any team this season.
TDJ has grinded his way up the rankings. He’s one of the best on ball defenders regardless of class, and has also developed into one of the top downhill players in this class. The PG plays with a good burst, allowing him to get by defenders, get to the rim and finish.
Yes, Lide is the card carrying memeber of my all irational confidence team, however his confidence isnt’ so irrational. The shooter, who posseses perhaps the deepest range of anyone in the class, has also developed into a sound playmaker and floor general. He comes in as a top 30 player in the class.
Zumaya is a another player in the class, that could throw his name into the state leading scorer category. He’s been terrific in his first two season’s at Green Valley, and now looks to increase his production even more. The put together combo is one of the top 1 v 1 players in his class.
